You don't need someone to convince you that what you believe is wrong. There is nothing wrong with being a Christian and not agreeing with every single solitary Christian belief. You will never find a religion that believes EVERY single thing that you do. As long as you follow the core values of your religion, you have nothing to worry about. So what if you have a different belief about the origin of man than some other Christians do? We do not have to believe all of the same things that other people believe.
If you believe in evolution and can incorporate that into your religion, that's great. There's nothing wrong with believing in science AND God. You may believe in evolution but also believe that God created evolution - and that does not go against your beliefs and convictions as a Christian.
There is no need to ask other people to change your mind just because you think that's what you are "supposed" to belive.

This is an awesome question! I was in the same situation several month's back...having a belief in God and yet had believed in evolution due to what I had heard! However I then realized you CAN NOT have it both ways...it is stated in the Bible that God created EVERYTHING!! So I scratched my head, swallowed hard and started some investigating.
Listened to a few disc's stating some facts and was given a book called "Bruce and Stan's Guide To How It All Began". Looked on-line to try and verify Evolution and/or Creation.
Every time I look into Evolution it is refered to as "an obvious truth" however have not seen 1 single thing to support it!?!? HMMM so I looked into the Creation end of it a bit more and found fact after fact discounting Evolution and showing facts in the Bible, science and common sense that made it obvious what the answer was, as far as the begining of the Universe!
I will give you just a couple of things that really stuck out to me ....
At one time science thought the world was flat...in the Bible it is stated (3,500 years ago) the world is sphere.
At one time science counted the stars and said 1,100?! In the Bible it is stated there are billions of stars!! This coming from Mose's, again 3,500 years ago..think of the number billions that long ago...looking in the sky and stating billions of stars!? That sounds pretty unlikely that he could fathom such a number! These are just a few very minor things that just put it simply regarding science and how it keeps adapting/learning and when they do learn something new they go back to the Bible and see that it was written properly 3,500 years ago!!
The Big Bang Theory was the begining of the end for Evolution. It was previously believed that the universe had always existed....this proved we had a begining and that we where an effect, to have an effect you have to have a cause, a cause that is outside of our universe and that had existed (Obviously) prior to our universe that is where the big guy comes in!!
There are so many facts I feel like writing a book here!!
just a couple more quick things that discount Evolution and was admitted by Darwin himself that this would support or disolve his theory...
The fossil record shows no intermediate (fish with feet type of things) fossils, again Darwin was wondering why they where not found yet and they still have not been found 150 years later.
Irreducible complexity...this is an organism/bacteria/amoeba/organ or whatever that could not have evolved. A good example stated is the eye, the eye would not function if reduced from what it is! It could not have evolved from something else because it is what it is, anything less it would not function!
something else to look into is the "Information theory" (basically where did all the information come from?? It had to come from somewhere and it is in all DNA...could not have popped up out of nowhere!)
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to drop me an email I can send you a CD or at least point you in the right direction!
Great question!!

I'd say that a request for an explanation is indeed a question. Don't worry about the reporting.
Welp, the way I see it, the Bible's explanation of creation is metaphoric not literal. But at the same time, evolution is a theory, not a law or a fact. I think it answers some questions but is no more absolute truth than a literal Bible translation of Revelation or Genesis.
If you really are a Christian, you should know that you aren't going to burn in hell because you disagree with some other Christian on some point, but are saved from all sin by your belief in Christ Jesus and your willingness to turn from sin because of that belief (see James 2).

I'm not sure what your religious leader has been feeding you, but evolution IS how we all came to be. Now before you get all offended, you need to realize that I am a practicing Christian, but that doesn't mean I have to look science square in the face and deny its existence. The books of the Old Testament (i.e. Genesis) are a collection of the stories, legends, and early history of the Israelites, the predecessors to the modern day Jewish and Christian faiths. There are four main sources that are thought to have contributed to these books, J (the Yahwist source), E (the Elohim source), D (the Deuteronomistic source), and P (the Priestly source), delineated by their linguistic styles and the name by which each refers to God. Just as all tribal groups, the Israelites had versions of their creation myth as well as other stories that were meant to explain the world as they saw it. If you read Genesis, there are two versions of the creation story, from two separate sources, one right after the other. One describes the omniscient, omnipotent God we identify with today, the other portrays God as anthropomorphic (having human traits and walking and talking with humans.) These stories aren't meant to be taken as truth any more than Native American creation stories are. They are simply a record of the tribal lore of the Israelites. That doesn't mean God did not create the world, it just means that people thousands of years ago were a lot less sure of exactly how He did it then we are today.

You will not burn in hell because there is no hell in the bible and not unlike your other "beliefs" you have not done your research. Why are you trying to form a belief on things you have not taken the time to study for yourself. What is an elaborate explanation have to do with anything? Are you looking for what is correct or what elaborate. To find out what is correct I would suggest you learn to form your own opinions off of what you learn and not what others believe. Hell is a mistranslation of Hebrew words Sheol and Gehenna and the Greek words Tartarus and Hades. Go study that and stop believing in foolish things.

If you pray a lot and ask the lord to forgive all your sins everyday a person does a sin and tell him that your thankfull that your not very badly sick and your well and healthy. And just tell him how you feel and that your sorry for what ever you did wrong. That is kinda what you do. And belive in him very well and you want to go to heaven. Now i am 12 years old and i am saved i havent been babtised where the people put you in the water. And i will do that soon. But when i pray i tell him how i feel and i am not like those Africa kids and have aids and being sick. And read the bible a lot it will tell you how to live your life. I got this little booklet thing that says peace with god, Smile Jesus loves you and it tells how to pray and it tells you what he said and all kinds of stuff. And ask if you go to church ask some of your church friends. Oh i almost forgot do everything you can possibly do right and not wrong. :-)

You can be a Christian and believe in evolution. Some say it's a story and some say it's literal. But, do any of us know? We'll find out for sure when we meet God face to face. What's more important is that you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and invite Him into your life. Once you do that, you will see your entire life transformed. It won't happen overnite, but you will begin to see how deeply happy you will be having God as your foundation. The God we serve doesn't burn His people in hell because they struggle with questions as to evolution. He's a loving Father that wants you to know Him and how He can work miracles in your life. Focus on that and how you can best serve Him and fulfill your destiny on earth as His child. Leave the question of evolution to the scientists.

Here it is: You are a human being with a brain, giving you an intellect and an imagination. Isn't it possible that God could have created us by evolving us from primates?
The important thing is this: God is amazing, and can do anything He wants to do. I believe with all my heart that it's more a sin to argue about God's methods rather than sitting back in awe and wonder at them.

It's in my research,
My Holy Book (Qur'an) breaks Darwin's theory that says we all started from an animal or a germ, The Evolution Theory.
Adam was created by Allah's Holy Hands, Adam as Qur'an teaches us was created within six steps,
- Sand
- Mud
- Black Clay (i don't know the word in english) in this step Adam
took shape.
- Clay like a pottery
- Formation or Fashioning step
- Then the sperit step.
The creation of the Children of Adam was also in six steps but different than the creation of Adam our first father, and they are:
-Sperm
-Leech
-Chew
-Bones
-Bones were coverd with meat
-Spirit step
and that's how we all keep coming.. it's starts when the egg and the sperm meet in the Fallopian tube in the mother's womb.
I can deeper in each step, and take you back to the very beginning but my bad English isn't helping, anyway it's all in the Holy Qur'an, all was scientifically proved right.
few years ago, they thought that the bone and the meat were created at the same time, where Qur'an says bone 1st then meat covers. that was 1400 years ago.
if you're interested for more details email me and i will translate my articles to English and send them to you.

There is a theory taught that God created everything in an aged state of existence, for example, he created dinosaur bones old even though they may only be 6000 years old. There is also other accepted theories that include evolution.
What it comes down to is that the Bible says that God created the heavens and the Earth. That's what you have to believe. He doesn't tell us how to believe we got from there to where we are now - so don't stress it! Just live for Him!
