I think 13 is too young. Let her get another set of holes in her ears and wait for the belly button until she is a) 16 years old or b) has a job and can pay for it herself. Remember when she has a pierced belly button, she is going to want to show it off by wearing short shirts.

No, I would not let my 13 year old daughter get her navel pierced. I am an adult and a mother and I have mine pierced. Why does a 13 year old need a piercing that should be covered by her clothes? Quit arguing with your parents and causing them stress. You can go get it pierced yourself when you are 18. It is a painful piercing and requires a lot of aftercare. If a 13 year old got pierced and it got infected or she decided to take it out, she would be scarred for life.

If my daughter earned enough money to pay for it and showed she was responsible enough, I would let her. She would have to prove to me by bringing home good grades, helping around the house, and being a well-behaved teen. I got mine done at 15, I got my first tattoo at 16. I also had a 4.0, did all my homework, and helped around the house. I also paid for both of them with money I had saved up. I feel that if a teen is responsible enough then they deserve to get something they want like a piercing. If you are getting for the wrong reasons though, I wouldn't allow it. If you want it because everyone else has one or because guys think it's cool, it would be a no from me.

at age 13, I would have to say no - it can get infected and isn't neccessary at that age - she can wear jewelry or something with her outfit -but there is no need to get a belly button pierced. After age 18, she is an adult and I may not like it, but I couldn't stop her. I think 13 is way too young though!

I would allow this at about 15 or 16 and that would still depend on the maturity level of the child. I think that most piercings are done as a sexual statement... a 13 year old is not ready to make that statement.

I'm a mother and I would not let my 13 year old daughter if I had one get her belly button peirced. I myself have my belly button peirced and it not only hurt but it got infected and that really hurt. I just feel that choices like that can be made by the child once they have moved out and are paying their own bills. I was 22 when I got my belly button peirced it was on my birthday. I was only sixteen when I got my nose peirced, but I was already living on my own and paying my own bills. Out of the two peircings I love my nose peircing the best.

no i would not let my daughter pierce her belly button. it's not good for you cause it can get infected. it also ruins the line of your cloths to have that hanging out. and it can get caught on stuff and tear out.
i will allow my daughter to have her ears pierced but thats it until she's 18.

No. It's a fad but a semi-permenant procedure with medical side effects. Besides, 13 year olds shouldn't be showing off their navals.
Belly rings originally were used for sexual attraction, 13 year olds have no need to try and sexually attract people.
