Let me make sure I've got this straight.

The heavens and earth were created in 7 days by a being that "has always been and always will be". This being is ominiscient (all knowing), omnipotent (all powerful), and omnipresent (everywhere). Despite these traits, this creature took 7 days to create everything when it could have simply blinked everything into existence all at once. It even had to rest on the 7th day. If it's all powerful, why would it get tired or need to rest?

The first two humans were Adam and Eve, who had many children -yet no one closely examins the theory of in-breeding, despite all offspring carry the same genetic make-up of their parents.

Later, a voice from heaven told Abraham to kill his son, then basically said "Psyche!" Yet when asked about other people hearing voices, it's called mental illness. Hmmmm.

Noah gathered up 2 of every species on the Earth and put them all on a boat.

A guy named Moses talked to a burning bush. Still not considered mentlly ill.

John S: Thanks for your tedious responses. Here are your posts, along with my responses:

"If you were serious your questions could be answered. But no one takes you seriously.
Think about what you believe, then attempt to defend it."

Thank you Mr. Voice of a Generation. I'm so glad that you can take it upon yourself to attempt to degrade me for asking questions. Clearly you did not understand that nature of the questions and you are merely responding for points. That makes you even more pathetic than your actual response.

Since you assume I'm not serious about my questions, then I can only assume that you are a fool for responding as you have since you did not understand them. I know EXACTLY what I believe and do not need to defend those beliefs to anyone, especially some self-righteous punka$$ like you.

Another of your heart-warming posts:

"Why don't you pick a question and ask it. Get it answered and then move on. No one wants to respond to your whining."

No whining here...

Open your mind to the beauty of myth.

It's not important if a myth is true or not. What matters is what the story means for the people who are telling the story.

Ask yourself what the ancients were trying to communicate through these tales, and then consider how those messages might still be important for believers today. Then you might have a better appreciation of these stories.

>>>The heavens and earth were created in 7 days by a being that "has always been and always will be". <<<

The Bible says 6 days, not 7. Nevertheless, those 6 days may not necessarily be 6 periods of 24 hours each. The Bible is using metaphor there.

>>>This being is ominiscient (all knowing), omnipotent (all powerful), and omnipresent (everywhere). Despite these traits, this creature took 7 days to create everything when it could have simply blinked everything into existence all at once.<<<

Yes, He could have blinked everything into existence -- or He could have done it in a metaphorical period of 6 days.

Just because He didn't do something that He could have done, doesn't mean He's not real!

>>>It even had to rest on the 7th day. If it's all powerful, why would it get tired or need to rest?<<

The Bible just says that God rested. It doesn't say that He NEEDED the rest, or that He got tired.

If you say "I ate a cookie," it doesn't necessarily mean that you NEEDED to eat the cookie. It doesn't necessarily mean that you were hungry.

>>>The first two humans were Adam and Eve, who had many children -yet no one closely examins the theory of in-breeding, despite all offspring carry the same genetic make-up of their parents.<<<

Perhaps the phenomena of genetic anomalies had not yet developed yet -- just as many medical conditions, such as STDs, had not developed yet.

>>>Later, a voice from heaven told Abraham to kill his son, then basically said "Psyche!" Yet when asked about other people hearing voices, it's called mental illness. Hmmmm.<<<

Sometimes it's the real thing; other times it's a false alarm. This goes for lots of things, including hearing God's voice.

>>>Noah gathered up 2 of every species on the Earth and put them all on a boat.<<<

It's a good thing he did, too. Especially if you're an animal lover.

>>>A guy named Moses talked to a burning bush. Still not considered mentlly ill.<<<

God had to somehow show Moses that He was "the real deal" in light of what He was about to ask Moses to do.

Otherwise, asking Moses to go convince the Pharaoh to let the Israelites go free would have been a very tall order.

The heaven and earth were created in (5) days by a being (GOD) that "has always been, (IS), and always will be" AMEN!
This being (GOD) is ominiscient -all knowing-, omnipotent -all powerful-, and omnipresent -everywhere-. Despite these traits, this creature (GOD) took (6) days to create everything when (HE) it could have simply blinked everything into existence all at once (If He wanted to do it that way). (What's your hurry?)
It (GOD) even had to rest on the 7th day. If it's all powerful, why would it get tired or need to rest? (You would have to ask GOD that.) (But, it is symbolic of how man is to work six days, and then rest and worship on the Sabbath.)

The first two humans were Adam and Eve, who had many children -yet no one closely examins the theory of in-breeding, despite all offspring carry the same genetic make-up of their parents. (God protected the off-spring from such maladies until the human race was sufficient to multiply on its own)

Later, a voice from heaven (The Angel of the Lord led Abraham to a solitary place) told Abraham to (sacrifice) kill his son, then basically said (Stopped him from killing Isaac). ( God requires our obedience, and this was a test of Abraham's obedience- God was never going to let Isaac be killed) Yet when asked about other people hearing voices, it's called mental illness. Hmmmm. (Depends on who's voices you are hearing!)

Noah gathered up 2 of every species on the Earth (Except dinosaurs) and put them all on a boat.
(God sent them to the ark- 2 x 2)

A guy named Moses talked to a burning bush (No, he spoke with GOD, whose spirit was causing the bush to burn, but not burn up). Still not considered mentlly ill
(Well, for a non-believer I guess that would be the only explanation.)

Yes the Earth and inhabitants were created in seven days and it could have happened with a big bang. He did it the way he did to set a pattern for his creation. Just like everything having the ability to reproduce it's self. He rested is a term to explain what he was doing on the last day of the week. didn't need to still doesn't just opted to.
Adam and Eve were clean in blood and inbreeding would only make the species stronger. It is the impurities in the blood that cause birth defects. It is operating outside of the umbrella of faith or in the alternate mindset where sin, sickness and death have been created by Lucifer and company.
Abraham should have known that God was not serious about sacrificing his son as God even had to allow Jesus to be killed, He did not do it. It was allowed for the big picture to be complete.
Noah was assigned his task so you could have doubts about it today. With faith it all makes sense. In the natural it seems insane. God's word must be discerned spiritually.
....and Moses talked to a burning bush. God did not need the bush, he could have talked to Moses in many ways, even by cell phone or Internet. it was God's way of getting his undivided attention, and it worked and still is.

Ok, so first off, yes, God could have blinked and made the whole world in a second, but he was setting an example of how he wanted us to live, working for six days, and resting on the seventh, which was consecrated the sabbath. I'm not sure what your question is for the second paragraph, but yes, it was never thouroghly recorded about how they reproduced with relatives or if thats what even happened. When Abraham was told to sacrafice his son, thats what it was, a sacrafice. it was a test. You see, Abraham wanted a son so badly, and when he finally got one, God told him to sacrafice his son on an alter to the Lord. God wanted to see if he would show faith and trust. And when he raised up his knife, and angel of the Lord appeared to him saying well done, do not kill your son. He passed the test. He would have sacraficed his son to the Lord if he asked, and it was credited to him as faithfullness, and he was made into a gret nation (in other words, he had so many offspring and descendants, they made nations). Noah actually didn't gather up animals, they 'came unto him'. Moses did not talk to a burning bush, he spoke to God, who was using a burning bush as a way to Moes' attention, and even then, the bush did not burn, and when God stopped the "fire" the branches had not been scorched.

It's wonderful to question... it's the best way to learn! God chose to create the world as he did - yes, He could have "blinked" it instead, but as you come to know God, you come to understand that is not His way :) He did not NEED to rest. He chose to rest. Rest can mean many things to many people; it is very different than our need for sleep. In breeding wasn't a problem when the genes were perfect. The voice from heaven talking to Abraham was God and God spoke to Abram/Abraham many many times. Noah did not gather up animals; God led them to the ark. You haven't read or studied the scriptures. You would be wise to join a bible study so that you can understand what you are reading and discuss it with others. Questioning isn't wrong - forming your questions in a manner as to make the answers seem ridiculous isn't kind when you do not understand the bible. Keep learning and if you truly seek the truth you will find it. May God bless and keep you in your search and always. ~Nisa

NO, one big mistake I see: "2 of every species on Earth".

Noah actually took 2 of every "KIND" according to the Bible. So, that's two dogs, not 2 jack russels, 2 poodles, 2 beagles... God rounded up 2 of each kind whos genetic make-up contained all the traits of all animals that we know today. After getting off the ark, they repopulated the world and varying genetic combinations took care of making different species.

Oh, and also, the 7-day creation was done to set an example for us. Where do you think the 7-day calendar comes from? And traditionally, people rest on the 7th day (Sunday).

God spoke the world into existence.. its quite similar to blinking... not much different.. no effort goes into that as well. and well, why he took seven days.. well, for God seven days is nothing.. for him its less than a blink of an eye.. is it not said that a thousand years is like a day for God? Then what is 7 days? for you 7 days might look like a long time.. but God in his infinite wisdom took some time does not mean that he could not do it faster... besides God rested on the 7th day means he ceased from creation.. and that is from where we got the term rest.. Thought our rest is real and from toil and tirednes.. but not for God.. and its not we who taught God what rest is... but we got to learn it from his example.. a day to rest from our earthly activities..

again I have to say.. which is easier to believe? that man came from 2 human beings.. or that the whole world came into existence from a bacteria? or if you say that the world came into existence from the big bang.. then I have to say the Big Bang would sound more illogical.. because... according to the big bang... the universe which is there now.. of which we have explored less that 0.01% all came from a tiny particle of infinite density which can't even been seen because it is was smaller than a dust particle.. so literally all the things which we can see now.. and out of which the farthest billions of light years consitute only a fractional percentage all came from something which could not even been seen.. this is what science says?? now is that illogical or can you say its logical? no one has seen the big bang and you can't even see any real logic in its theory.. other than the mathematical equations which support it.. I should say that people who bring out such theories are not considered mentally ill.. so why should moses be in his age? especially when he was not talking to a burning Bush, but a God who presented himself to Moses in the form of a burning bush.. And about Abraham.. if you see the culture of those times.. you can see that God demanded sacrifice from men.. not human sacrifice.. but literally God was asking Abraham to give Isaac to him.. and its not the killing part which is important in it.. but the giving up of the thing he cherished most in his life.. a test to see if if he would obey God..

As for noah.. the people in his time called him a fool for building the ark.. but they realised their folly too late when the rain came and the door of the ark was shut.. now also people term noah as a fool but won't their fate be the same as the men who teased noah in his time.. so now is the time to repent and believe.. instead of making fun of something (if you are doing) which you don't know much about..

You can get a lot of insight from the above answers as well. I have seen so many good answers which explain so much.. so I hope your get your answer..

SIMPLE: God himself, was been an example to us..Yes he could had done everything in a snap of a finger, but how can we accomplish that when he was not our first example. God never gets tire, but he was showing us that we should rest from our labor.

So if you are working to much and writing things that it doesn't makes sense to you, then you are not having a rest. The bible interprets it self, don't ask men that will answer you in to their own opinions. Seek God and rest. that all you need and stop working to hard, your mind is going to blow away!!!!

First of all God created the earth in 6 days and rested on the seventh. Second of all, why do you people constantly ask us Christians why God does what He does? We are not God, therefore we don't know His reasoning, we just have faith in Him. Don't you think if He wanted us to know everything, He would tell us?
