No the same thing happened to me.
I was really independent too, then I started seeing my boyfriend and all that went.
It's because really we all do need people. You may have thought before your girlfriend that you didn't need anybody, but that's not true.
I think you should work on your friendships with people and get some really good personal connections going ... Then you won't have to be so dependent on just one person.

It's not totally pathetic. You simply need to get your poop in a group and become independent again. Never depend on anyone to take that much control over your life. It's simply not a very attractive trait in anyone. Everyone needs a certain amount of self reliance. Take charge of yourself and enjoy every minute!

No and do NOT worry, you will regain your independence !!
MOVE ON... if she is the right one you will know.. and get back maybe?
You do though..need personal connections.. everyone does..
get out there and make friends...
What you are going through is NORMAL and you will go through it again, and again, it happens with most break ups.. when you care for someone deeply and you were together for 2 yrs.

Pathetic? Only time will tell. Allow me to explain.
We all get hurt; the only question is what we do with it. Sure, the initial hit can knock us off balance. Don't expect yourself to be Superman; that position is already taken.
This will make you stronger with time if you allow it. You will not only be stronger in your independence but you will be better able to give someone love without fear knowing that you have handled hurt before and have survived.
No, my friend, not patheic; just human!

It is not pathetic. It's just that you have grown acostomed to sharing everything with this person and now you have noone to share it with.
I would suggest you try spending time with friends, etc so that you don't miss her as much.
You will learn to be independent again.

of course not, that is perfectly understandable. you just experienced how nice it is to be cared for by someone close to your heart, and the abrupt change made you long for her all the more because you were so used to her presence in your life. dont worry, that's normal reaction. youll be faring fine :-)

you're going through the break up blues.
no worries, you'll get back on your own two feet. it'll just take a while... a long while if she was the first one you've really opened up to.
good luck!
