Depends on the country.

And besides, except for like, Canada and Mexico, you HAVE to apply for a Visa if you're not a citizen.

I know a lot of "snow birds" and I was told that you can visit the states (from Canada) for up to six months and have to go back to your home country for at least a day or two before returning back into the states. If you are going to visit and want to work temporarily, you will have to apply for a visit with the American government.

if you come here for a visit from another country you can stay here for 90 days with the visa waiver you get from the airline you fly with. When you have been here for 90 days you have to leave and stay out of the country for 6 months.
