Is God a real being ? No - Both are mythical - the concept of Satan came in because of the concept of God. Just to create the balance between good and bad or evil. Balance the scale.

But I like what Anton La Vey has done with the concept of Satan.

BTW - I am not a Satanist. Just another guy who is open enough and has been given the freedom to study any belief under the sun.

Great question and no satan is not a real being. The word Satan comes from the Hebrew word sathan that simply means adversary. The belief that he is a fallen angel comes from the books of the Apocrypha (Jewish Folklore) Most Christians spend their life believing in a Satan as a being because they do not care to take the time to study or question what they have been taught.

Yes satan is a real spirit, originally the spirit, or angel Lucifer. He was one of Gods favorite angels and God gave him the keys to creation. All the evil that you see in the World is a result of satan's creative power. In the beginning of sin, Lucifer thought he had a better idea then Gods and set out to create it. It was the difference between God's plan and Lucifer's plan that made for another mindset where things could manifest evil. Even if it does not appear to be evil, it is sin because it is not the perfect plan it is a alternative.

Satan is a real supernatural/spiritual being.

God created Lucifer as an angelic being, the Angel of Light.
When Lucifer decided he wanted to be GOD, he set out and turned 1/3 of the angels in heaven against God.
For that, Lucifer was cast down from heaven along with 1/3 of the angels. He was then called Satan, the father of evil.

Satan is a real being. He was an angel until he rebelled against God and was cast out of heaven along with the angels that sided with him. He preys on our weaknesses and causes evil in the world.

"Nothing" is real;
but at the same time "Nothing" cannot exist

Anyone who claims to knows the answer to your question is a liar. If there was consensus on this topic there would probably be either a single global belief system or none at all.

I think it's more important to know that evil is real (whether personified or not),
Evil and good exists in everyone; it's our actions that really count and we alone are responsible for them.

Do no evil

Of course he is just the evil. There is no real Satan unless you believe in talking snakes and all the other 'fables' you were taught as a young, impressionable child. But still....you better be good! YOU control your destiny; not any gods or demons.

he is real being was cast down from heaven by God for trying to be better than God and take over heaven. He now is ruler of the earth which is why there are so many problems in the world today. Aids, wars, famines, sexual perversion, divorce, sin is running rampant because Satan is loose and trying to get us to destroy the world and follow him.

Satan is a fallen angel, there are also a group of other fallen angels that are his followers, but most of the evil in the world is caused by our own sin
