I sit down every Sunday and write a dinner menu for the week, then I look in my pantry and write down what I am missing to make my dinner menu for the week, that's part of my list I then write the everyday ness like Toilet paper, bread, milk, juice, cheese, cold cuts, water, things like that and I add a few quick freezer items like a couple of lean cuisines, garlic bread if I'm making pasta that week and viola....my grocery list

when shopping, go on days that you are not hungry cause that will prevent you from buying things that you don't need just want and secondly, buy things that you need and not what you want like junk food, use coupons, before you go write down what you don't have and buy those items be senseible with your money some foods are cheaper than others if you budget won't all the name brand its then buy what you can with what you have.there is no shame is buying what you can afford for your family.
