Some may act this way, but in their founding father's inception the idea was not for this purpose. There are still a lot of good people who practice religions and some with no religion that are doing good as well. I think that if you look at how the universe is infinite, and how atoms are infinite in that there is always a smaller unit. Maybe, you can see that there might be infinity to you. Also, there is not a coincidence that things on earth are in groups like the finite structure of DNA with 4 chemicals that make combinations for all genes. And how electrons are on rings much like the plaents are on ringers that orbit. The world and universe you know has a design.

If my religion (Catholicism) was a "corporate business taking people's cash," then they're not going about it very well.
If Catholicism really was a business, it would charge membership fees. It would charge fees for the administration of the sacraments. And it would sell tickets to Mass.
It would sell forgiveness of sins and sell indulgences -- the Church never has done that, despite what you might have read in your history books about Martin Luther and all.
You wrote, "just accept when you die thats it" -- but this is contradicted by the near-death experiences that many people have had.
Lots of people have had such experiences, cutting across ethnic and cultural and geographical lines.
What's more, their experiences are all virtually identical.
This is telling evidence that this life here on earth is not "it."

Those who believe don't need that money anyways, God provides for them and uses the money to help others in greater need. Besides, the era of the televangelist and the churches that rob you blind didn't start until the mid 1900's. Before that, religion was more about faith and your love of God, not just a commercial show! If you want to know why religion is worth it to me, take a walk into a very rural area, find a hidden forest, sit down in the shade of a huge tree, and realize that everything around you has been preciously and precisely designed by a Creator who does it all in the name of his Love for us. Nature speaks of God's glory... people just ruin it.

I would do much better with a religion that gave everything away. People who stand up and preach to people about following God or Jesus or any other Deity in their $1000 suits don't do it for me especially when they say that "God" talks to them! Neither do priests who have never had families and whose chalices are gold. They all live in really nice places, and make money tax free. What a scam that is. Give me Mother Theresa now that's a Christian!!! You will be known by your deeds and most Christians are hateful, judgmental, holier than thou people. And that is why they need religions. Because they can't feel superior in any other way.But they can feel superior to the people who are not sheep and don't follow the herd mentality!

Nope.
You ever fell there's something missing? Something lacking?
Eat sleep work repeat. Yawn.
You buy cool stuff and, in a few years, it's trash. Yard sale.
Something missing? Lacking? A void, perhaps? Sure.
Your parents brought you into the world and love you & stuff but they don't OWN you. You get old enough and then just tiptoe down the road. See ya.
Dad's your biological father and deserves your love and respect and all that but who's your Father? The one you belong to?
In Paul's letter to the Corinthians he said,
1Cor 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost [which is] in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
1Cor 6:20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
And this certainly isn't it. He has things waiting for us that we cannot even comprehend.
1Cor 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

No, religions are the act of doing something repetitavely to acheive something for your own benefit.
Religious Organizations are the corporations.
The bible says that a person's religion is in vain if they are not helping others and caring for widows and orphans.
It's not about religion - in fact God hates religiousness - it's about learning about God and having a relationship with him. It's also not about what you get in the end, but also how you live your life now.
I know what you mean though - Religious Organizations (the people behind them) have given spirituality and faith in God a bad name.

Most people work for religion because it is what they believe is true and they want to help others find the truth. Unfortunally, there are some morons who go into the religion "business" to get money or fame. Those people are giving every respectible religion a bad name.

There is partial truth in your question.
"Corporate business" that cover itself with religious banners do milk money from lazy people who believe that they can buy their way to the haven. The same type of corporate business that makes money on people who believe in "Magic pill" -" Buy some and your problems gone".
People who believe only in themselves?! Where have you seen them? Arrogant jerks who have no doubts in own actions! You think they do not have god? Wrong! They are their own idols and they sacrifice everything and everybody just to please themselves.
Why would they need eternal life, if they are already full of themselves? Usually their motto is "I do now what I want now and I don't care what happen tomorrow, because tomorrow I will be dead."

We are here to enjoy and also enjoy hereafter or in life after death.
That is the true life of enjoyment with plenty of things.
This world is just an examination hall, and we are attempting exam here, so that we can get results after death and given prizes in form of paradise and joy which is more superior then this world.
Why are we here , so that we can recognize our creator , see every thing is created, even this computer on which you are doing work, and browsing internet. who created your computer , must be any manufacturer, creater, producer etc..
Similarly you are also being created, cant you see that human is created from bad drop, or sperm. Who created us also?
There must be someone who created us,, similarly like there is someone who created your personal computer.
Human beings are also created from nothing or bad drop, there must be a some one who created us, that some one is All Mighty God. He is always watching, listening us.
He is just waiting for us to recognize Him.
AS you know that your computer Moniter or screen is not created from earth quake, or any reaction of sand and oil in earth crust, it is being created properly, Similarly you are being created by God, and He wants you to recognize Him and worship Him.
He created us so that we can Worship Him, now the question is that how to worship Him? ITs simple see Word of God known as Quran, It is a miracle of Miracles. Imagine you can even find some amazing facts which science came to know recently and it was already mentioned 1400 years ago, why because our Creater got more superior Knowledge then any one.
Many scientist also embraced Islam after doing research on Quran.

I think you are right, look at the cash few institutions have piled up. Besides, the massive spending on construction of these building can be utilised for something concrete, like housing, education etc. I think one should associate some activity with these institution, which serves for the social upliftment
