Loosing 2 lbs. is the ideal for losing weight, if you are loosing more than that you are loosing muscle or water weight. If you have just started a diet you may loose 5-7 lbs. the first week and depending on the amount of weight you are trying to loose loosing 10-12 lbs. a month is probably not hard or bad, just make sure you are losing weight the healthy way; through a moderate diet and moderate exercise and you should be fine. I would not consider 10 lbs. to be a bad goal if you have a fair amount of weight to lose. If you were only trying to lose 10 lbs. though I would wonder how you managed to lose it all in a month.

Ive done it over the past two months after I learned that I had hypertention (high blood pressure), and Im under thirty! I learned about the dash diet.
All I did differently is watch the amount of sodium in foods and made sure it was low. Then I got a great salad dressing that was low in fat and sodium (called naturally light, it's refridgerated and all natural which comes in many different flavours) and had a huge salad for lunch everyday.. or at least I tried to. I mixed it up too.. like a spinich salad one day.. a romaine one the next.. spring mix.. and LOADED it with peppers, tomatoes, onions.. EVERYTHING. I feel and look GREAT now! I love it, and I have soo much more energy! Oh, i forgot, i also wont eat dinner past six. it must be before six. If you're going to snack at night, I made it all fruit or veggies.
It takes discipline, but DAMN, do i feel great and in control!

It is normal to lose 1 to 2 pounds a week- so if you have a five week month- you could lose these 10 pounds without jeopardizing your health. Health books claim that losing weight too quickly can have negative effects on your body so 10 pounds a month sounds like an approitate goal to reach for.

when your losing weight, you have to think about how your body is going to respond to it in the long run
--when you lose weight, the quick and easy way, its very hard to keep it off and many people have a tendency to gain the weight all over again
--if you want a safe and effective way to lose weight, it should include changing your lifestyle- changing your eating habits and plenty of cardio, plus a day or two for weight training (to burn excess fat, and no you won't look like the incredible hulk)
--what is supposed to be normal is losing a pound a week, anything drastically more poses a chance for it to be unhealthy and not safe
**so NO 10 pounds is a lot for a month (despite all these pills and extreme diets out there; i just dont believe in them), start setting goals that are more realistic, trust me...you'll be happy with the end result, aim for 5 pound instead**

Yes. Safe rates for honest weight loss should start at 1/2 to 2 lb. a week. Otherwise, you are more likely losing mostly water weight, affecting electrolyte imbalances, which can lead to dangerous consequences. Also, losing weight steadily over several months at the rate mentioned above significantly increases the chance of keeping the weight off. Another goal to set is losing 10% of body weight over six months.

there's a diet called 3 day diet. you loose 10 pounds in just three days if u follow the menu. u eat healthy food and the right chemical breakdown causes u to lighten down for 10 pounds. but really it depends on how you loose it.

It's been said that if you want to loose weight the healthy way, you should aim for 2 pounds a week.
Hope that helps.

Yes. A safe amount of weight to lose is 1-2 lbs. / week. Combine exercise with a balanced diet to get results.

No BUT, losing about 1-2 pounds a week means you are changing your life choices instead of bouncing on a yo-yo fad diet.
