I think 13 is too young to decide and make an informed choice. You are still a dependent why hurt a good family. Cooperate with your family on traditions etc. When you are older like 18 or something you can choose what you like. I'm neither jewish nor christian!

Use the apostle Paul as your guide on this one.

Even after he truely believed in Jesus as his personal savior, he still participated in the rituals at the Jewish temples, he just knew in his heart, that the rituals provided nothing for him anymore, but they were important to many around him.

Basically, if you have prayed the sinners prayer, and invited Jesus into your heart, you do not have to throw away your cultural identity. Just remember to start reading the entire bible and following the rules of grace now intead of sacrifise and law.

When you are old enough, start attending a biblically doctrinal church whenever possible, this will help you learn more and more about what your heart is telling you to do right now.

Good luck and may God bless you and keep you.

Accepting Jesus into your heart is a private thing between you and the Lord. Is it necessary at this point to tell them? The God in the old testament, or of old covenant with the Jewish nation is the same one as in the new testament, or new covenant through salvation in Jesus, first to the Jews, then to the Greeks. You are worshiping the same God as before you converted to Christianity...are your religious traditions pretty much the same as written in the bible?

Many Jewish ceremonies have Jesus woven into them. A Jewish woman who had converted to Christianity came to our church and showed us the correlation between the Jewish ceremonies performed throughout the year, and the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. She believed the Lord revealed these things to her and they were truly amazing to see!

Pray and ask the Lord to show you what to do...He is the best adviser in the universe!

At your young age, you are under their authority. God said if you honor your father and mother you will be blessed with a long and prosperous life, and it will be well with you. It might not be a bad idea to talk to them, but if they won't listen, you can still pray to God yourself and ask Jesus into your heart, and allow him to be your personal savior, at the same time being a good son, loving helping and praying for your parents to see the wonderful light you've seen. Don't be outright rebellious, or disobedient. The way of the Christian is to always walk in God's love, telling the truth with compassion for those that are lost or confused. There is nothing wrong with allowing Jesus to be the Lord of your life, and once he is, you'll see how you can help. Read your bible, I mean really study it. It holds all the answers! God bless you. Jesus loves you! Peace be with you always!

Introduce your parents to Brighteyes. After hearing her opinion on religion I suspect they'll be grateful you still choose any religion at all :)

After reading the other responses. A serious answer. Follow your heart. Your parents cannot argue with that. They may be angry but eventually they'll calm down.

What is interesting is all the athiests here calling Christians hyprocrites. The irony of that is so rich. I don't see Christians on here bashing the Jewish faith.

If you believe in Jesus, that is your right, your family has to understand that God would not them to turn away from you, and I do not think that if they believe in God they will hate you, because God considers hate a sin, and we are to love all people, God is the only judge of us, you should continue in what YOU believe, when Jesus Christ returns, the jewish people will have a second chance to know the mesiah, but right now, they are in limbo, because Jesus has already taken the right hand seat at the throne next to God, but I encourage you to continue your beliefs, We are ALL Gods children, and God loves each and every one of us. Also, don't let anyone talk you out of your beliefs, because we each have a choice, and no one can make it for us.

you would probably enjoy being a messianic jew, rather than a regular protestant type of christian. The messianic jews believe in the divinity of Jesus, but also keep alot of the old traditions sacred, probably what the earliest christians were like. Look it up if you're serious. I love my fellow man, and answer their questions as best I can , as an atheist. But try to just quietly believe what you believe, while doing what your parents want you to do, until you are on your own. Just to make them happy.

max,
why would you want to become christian? don't you know that they're wrong?
I'll tell you what, I don't know what you've heard that has persuaded you into desiring to be a christian, but I have no doubt at all that any competent rabbi (which is not every one of them, you gotta find one) can demonstrate that they're wrong and we're right.
Do some google searches for antimissionary organizations.

After all, before cutting yourself away from 3000 years of tradition to accept a religion which persecucted us for nearly its entire existance, wouldn't you want to investigate our side of the story too? It just seems reasonable.

good luck

There is nothing wrong with you wanting to become a Christian. Talk to a pastor of a Christian church and learn more about the religion. If your family tries to be self-righteous, just ask them if they have kept the Law of Moses. Like I said though, ask a pastor, for more help. :)

You reminded me of an Old saying "falling from the Frying Pan to the Fire" - You are going to get in to deeper Sh IT - You better be what you are now and may be later start learning about other beliefs - you will know what's best to choose - Believe me the Kabalah's make a bit more sense than the Bible
