ok, a month of so ago a Nice Lil Old Lady came to my door, preaching baout God. She is a sweet lil old lady, how can I be rude. I stood in my doorway and talked to her baout 5 mins. She came back the next time with a Lil old man, we chatted about 5 mins and said well maybe next time we can come in and talk. So as i sit on my computer i can see out hte window, I have the blinds opened a lil so i can see out. MONDAY i saw her drive up with 3 people, so i shut the blinds and ran to the back of the house with the kids and waited for them to leave, TUESDAY she pulled up alone, i did the same, today she pulled up with 3 people, i did the same. WHILE I DO BELIEVE IN GOD, i dont want to be preached about it! I can believe in god and love him for my own home!!! How do i get rid of this NICE LIL OLD LADY nicely!? I thought about putting a devil worshiping sign out front, but thought maybe then they'd REALLY want to talk and help me!! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just be polite. I have this happen to me all the time, usually with Mormons. Be polite and firm, tell her right out, you appreciate her doing what she is doing, but you are happy with your own religion, and that you dont wish to discuss it further. Maybe that will help, those old people can be stubborn though, so maybe a "Satan lives here" sign would help! Good Luck.

Just tell them that you appreciate their dedication but you're not interested. And tell them to have a nice day and may the Lord richly bless them as you are closing the door.
If they return tell them that when you said you were not interested that meant they were not invited to come back and close your door.
Don't hide, these type of people, (I mean bullies not Christians) will only see your hiding as a challenge. They think "God's got her on the run now! All we have to do is go for the jugular and she'll be a member of the Heavenly kingdom." Not really caring if you're already a member or not.

Sounds like she is really concerned about you. You should feel honored that someone cares for you so much. We are to respect our elders. Oh and I used to think that I could worship my Lord at home and not go to church, until I finally broke down and went. Boy what a blessing. It is a different level of worship. Where to or more are gethered for my names sake, there I will be also, saith the Lord. When the Spirit is in the place its a wonderful feeling. Go to church with the lady, make her day if not yours or your children. She may not be on this earth much longer.

Personally I just say "No Thank You" and close the door. Works everytime. That or I hand them a pamplet on the Holy Rosary. LOL seems some people out there have the strangest ideas about us Catholics.
Since you have been polite just tell her that you are no longer interested and to please leave you in peace.

Thank them for showing so much interest in you, but that you don't feel it's right for you. Mention that you're happy with the way things are for you now, and to kindly respect your beliefs as well as you respect theirs.
Works with Mormon's all the time. Be nice, polite and let them know you're not interested.
Good luck

Get a No solicitors sign and put it up in your driveway.
Your courtesy is being miss-understood as interested.
Obviously you are Not one of Jesus sheep.
Our intentions are to find and teach those who are his sheep.
It is our job to do what Jesus told us to do.
The others in the car would not approach you, they are just waiting for her return to visit others in your area. We only come into people's homes when invited.

When someone came to my door wanting to "share their beliefs", I told them with a smile and in all sincerity: "Please come in and let me tell you about my Lord for the first hour and I will gladly sit and listen to you for the next hour." They left and never came back. ;-)

It's easy. Tell her you'd rather not be bothered, but thank her for her concern.
UPDATE: I think that sunpekes has a lot of gall to say what they did. "Obviously you are Not one of Jesus sheep." What is up with that? Oy vey!

thank her for her time and say you simply can't let her into your home with your 3 kids, it goes against what your trying to teach them about NOT talking to strangers.
