My sister (her mom) and I have tried everything and it's still all greasy! Any other parents have this happen? What's the best way to get it out?

Facial Tissues: Use soft tissues to blot the hair to remove as much of the Vaseline as possible.
Cornstarch or baby powder: Apply a little cornstarch or baby powder to the hair and pat it in to absorb the petroleum jelly. Then shampoo once or twice with a clarifying shampoo. Be sure to use warm water in the shampoo, since cold water congeals the Vaseline.
Baking soda: Mix one teaspoon of baking soda with a regular baby shampoo, then wash and rinse out. Repeat if necessary.
Baby oil: Saturate the hair in baby oil, rub it through the hair completely and squeeze out as much as you can. Then wash the hair three times with liquid dish soap and warm water, each time leaving the dish soap on for a few minutes to allow it to work.
Liquid dish soap with degreaser: Shampoo hair up to several times with dishwashing liquid with a degreasing agent, such as Dawn.
Liquid laundry detergent: Shampoo hair up to several times with a liquid laundry detergent, such as Wisk.

My son did this when he was 2. Try putting powder on her hair to sbsorp the Vaseline. then slowly comb it out. You may have to repeat several times. Then wash it.

I used to put vaseline on my child's hair for cradle cap. You have to get a towel and wipe away as much of the vaseline as you can with it. Then shampoo.

Dish soap. Rub it in dry, then get it wet with water and wash it thoroughly. Might take a few repeated washings. Just be careful not to get it in her eyes as it will sting terribly.

Use washing up liquid, give it three or four very strong applications then switch to shampoo. Washing up liquid like fairy is just really strong lemon smelling shampoo. Trust me I used to put heavy wax in my hair out of choice

Use something that cuts grease... dish washing detergent, or even something that men use to get car grease off their hands.
