We should change the rules so that big corporations and their lobbyist's aren't buying our elected officials. Do you realize how many laws are passed not for the average American, but to help big business? And when I say big business I mean businesses like insurance companies and oil companies for example.
The Deficit Reduction Act that went into effect January 1st of this year benefits insurance companies. Now, if you have more than $2,000 of savings or investments or more than $500,000 of equity in your home you have to pay for your care if you get hurt or sick and require long-term care! It's like they are punishing us for being successful. The only way around it is to buy insurance!
The prescription drug plan that went into effect on March 31 was supposed to benefit seniors, but turns out, it's benefitting insurance companies. And a lot of seniors and people with disabilities are beginning to suffer.
Look at how much we're paying for gas now. The oil companies are raking in hundreds of millions of dollars and we just pay the money and say there is nothing we can do about it. Our president is an oil man, you can't tell me that he isn't benefitting in some way from our shelling out more money at the pumps. Look at how much money Haliburton is making from the war, and Cheney is benefitting! There are other companies in Iraq now benefitting from this war while our soldiers are dying. And they still haven't given us a convincing enough reason to justify this war. Turns out everything they told us in the early days leading up to the war wasn't true. There were no weapons of mass destruction!
I think big business has too much power in this country, the only way it can be rectified is for Americans to come together and make the change. We can start by doing more research on our politicians before we vote for them. The people we put into office ultimately make laws that affect our lives, we should take voting more seriously.
I have heard people say they vote Republican, or Democratic just because they're parents did. That is a ridiculous reason to vote for someone. If you make less than $250,000 a year you should not be voting Republican because they do not have you in mind when they pass laws. They will pander to you and make you think they care by getting you all worked up about things like same-sex marriage, or the abortion issue while they are quietly passing laws that benefit the top 1 or 2 percent of the population.
The Democrats in my opinion are no better. I think they pander to their constituients as well. They aren't doing anything to really help the poor, but if they come out to our churches and get on television and make speeches that make us feel good, they get our vote. They really keep the poor, poor!
I think we need a whole new system, maybe even a new political party. Because both the democratic and republican parties are corrupt in my opinion. But the only way things are going to change is for Americans stop idolizing celebrities and start paying attention to what is going on in our government.

remove Jeffersonian type of authorities and flow to the parliamentary form. In a parliamentary authorities that's way a lot less complicated to regulate replace governments or remove contributors who practice malfeasance. There are not any set limits on how lengthy a celebration (activities) should be the authorities except that there's a optimal time even as an election should be observed as. A parliamentary equipment also facilitates minority activities to be an element of authorities. in a large number of, many situations this has proved to be a blessing because the favor for the smaller activities votes is often intense with a minority gov't.. This keeps a authorities trustworthy or they'll be thrown out by dropping a vote of self belief. A minority authorities fairly regularly finally ends up in extra constructive regulation making.

I have registered many voters and tried to register many others. It's amazing how may people respond, with pride almost, "I don't vote."
But voting remains our only true power as individuals. It is the single most powerful thing you can do to change our government.
Our elected officials make and enforce laws. They listen to lobbyists and big business, but they also must listen to the voters who put them in office.
Even with all the recent irregularities in our voting process, I say vote anyway and let your elected officials know you will work to put them out of office if they do not resolve the problems. Vote and let them know you are watching every move they make.
Just vote!

If your not part of the solution you are part of the problem. Just voting in every election wont help you have to get active. Even if the person you are voting for says that they are on you side then chances of them actually doing something about it is very low.

There is no solution. the average citizen has no power whatsoever to affect change. The government is set up that way on purpose.
All we can do is bend over a little further and take it up the butt a little deeper.

DO YOU HAVE A FEW HOURS FOR ME TO DISCUSS?.
A WORKERS' REVOLUTION WOULD SOLVE ALL THE PROBLEMS. HOWEVER, IT CAN NOT JUST HAPPEN OUT OF A VACUUM AND IT IS A LONG PROCESS WITH PEOPLE WILLING TO ACTUALLY COMMIT, THAT'S RIGHT COMMIT TO IT.
IF ENOUGH PEOPLE WOULD GET THEIR HEADS OUT OF THEIR SELF IMPORTANT @#$ESS
AND LOOK AROUND AND SAY WE ARE NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANY MORE THERE MIGHT BE A CHANCE FOR US?!
THE PROBLEM WILL ALWAYS REMAIN, PEOPLE ARE TOO CONCERNED WITH SELF INTERESTS AND NOT THE FUTURE!
THE SOUL OF THIS COUNTRY IS DYING A SLOW DEATH IN WHICH THE PROGENY ARE GOING TO HAVE TO DEAL WITH!

I am honestly not angry at the U.S. government. I think taxes are fair, I feel safe here since 9/11, the economy is great, so I am not angry.

It's been said that the only true form of Government is Anarchy. While that may be the ideal...I don't know that I would advocate it for the U.S because I sure would miss my social security checks and medicaire.
