You can't make your bf pop the question, but you can talk about it with him. Instead, talk about your future and mabe the possibility of getting married. That conversation can lead to if you both want to get married and when.

Haha...I really like this question!. Well this is what I learn from watching "The Nanny", "Fraser" & "Desparate Housewives" even thou it's fictiourous I believe it's quite valid.
1. Get some mag showing wedding gowns & pretend to drool over one in front of him, even if you're not interested in that particular design.
2. Maybe you could bring him over to a relative who has an adorable toddler & good marital relationship let him play with that child if you both dun mind having children. This will reinforce the the notion of getting married & starting a family.
3. Get him to mix often & participate with a happily married couple in an outing or friendly game of pool.
4. On an outing direct ur bf to a jewler & drool over a ring u desire.
5. You must find out who loves who more, if he loves u more then great~! if you love him more than he to u, you outta be careful.
6. Share with him this" The other day I saw on this show desperate housewives (skip "this show" if he knows about the show), Eidi tht her fiancee was gonna propose to her during dinner & when he gave her a chocolate cup cake she kept digging that cake thinking there was a ring inside & he fiancee was stummed..Gosh you should hv seen the way he reacted..."giggle then laugh"", refer to the online guide and if possible download e video online for reference.
7. Share with him e good time u shared preferabliy the funny moments & special ones.
8. If all these fail...hunny seems like you gotta pop e question
Hope this helped...all the best~! =)

next time you go to a store or to buy groceries, notice the Bride's magazine that is front and centre and say "wow, is that ever a gorgeous dress... I always wanted to wear a dress like that!" -
Perhaps you might even ask at that point if he has ever thought of being married... and what his views are on the topic.
Might be something you can talk over in the car on the way home..
-- good luck... but these things can't be forced on someone....... you really want it to be spontaneous and romantic.. The unexpected surprise of a proposal is wonderful ;)

I agree with the group that says you should go ahead and pop the question! This is a new age where women are more powerful than ever. They are taking the lead in politics and in business, so why not in their love life as well? If you want to be married to this guy and he hasn't ask, you ask him!
Best of luck!

Ask him if he's really serious about getting married and if so, when. If he says yes, get him into a jewelry store and show him what kind of rings you like best. If he's still slow, a month later tell him you either want to marry him before your next birthday or start "seeing other people" since it isn't going anywhere.

Pull him aside and tell him that you want him to sign a legal contract declaring his attraction to you as part of some archaic religious custom which binds him--should he go along with it--to pay you a monthly fine in addition to half of everything he owns should he ever decide that he is tired of you.
I'm sure he will see all the benefits to such an arrangement and drop down on one knee right then and there.

Start pointing out the ring that you really like or going to jewelry stores and saying wow this one would be perfect! That kind of stuff gives suttle polite hints to the guys.
You could always purpose to him youself. That is untraditional but is becoming more popular now a days.
Good luck!

If he's not ready to commit on that level yet, and you hint that you are, you might make him have anxiety, knowing you are expecting that much more of him.
I would just be happy with what you have, and unless he's willing to talk about the future, and children, etc, then I wouldn't try any hints.

if you see a sign for someplace advertising "have your wedding here" say off hand "Wow, that would be a beautiful place for a wedding" or when jewelry comercials come on with diamond rings say something like "that engagement ring is gorgeous! i would love that!"

If you force him into it, Will it be the same as him deciding on his own to ask you. He may not be sure yet , So he may do it but not be totally committed to it.
