Sleep mostly, they are nocturnal!
My one cat however has a mild case of seperation anxiety, so while I am at work she goes and finds any clothes of mine (even if they are in a drawer or laying in a hamper) and drags them throughout the house! My boyfriend used to think it was me just being a slob until he caught her laying in a shirt one day! She will not do it if we are there, just when I am gone!

Cats will spend on average 18-20 hours a day asleep in some place warm, safe and comfortable. They are naturally nocturnal, which means they often are awake and hunting at night. As far as domestic cats go, I don't think they wander very far on an average day. They typically have a small home area that they roam through looking for food shelter and mates. Domestic cats actually act very similarly to their wild cousins.

captive pet cats are domesticated forms of the african wild cat and many of their instincts and behaviors are still seen in our companion cats
Cats normally spend 12-18 hours a day sleeping, they are by nature a nocturnal predator and prefer to be active at night.
A cat will wander its territory which can be large or small, it depends on your cats social status with other cats it interacts with when its outside. Some cats have a territor of up to 5 square miles some may nly have a few backyards.
Like I said they prefer to be awake at night, as far as what they do, they may chase vermin, socialize with other cats, or just patrol their terrirtor and mark it with their urine.

Most cats find some out of the way place.. somewhat obscure and sleep most of the day., I do not let my cat roam outside the house.. I did in the past and friends did also and all were lost to being hit by cars and many caught by coyotes.. I always say that if you love your cat.. make it a house cat.

Cats are more active at night, and like to sleep someplace sunny during the day. Mine sleep on the floor by a window or on top of a box if the window spots are already filled by my other cats. But if you play with them a lot during the day they will start to sleep more at night and be active during the day.

Cats do many things throughout the day. Normally mine sit in places like my couch or my bed and just sleep. Sometimes they will chase things that dont exhist. it makes me laugh. My cats can go outside and they wonder around the neighborhood and chase other cats. they come out around dinner or supper time depending where you come from.

Indoor cat: sleeps on top of computer. Hears person in kitchen, goes in kitchen and begs to be fed. Eats. Licks self. Gets exercise by running away from the dog. Sleeps on top of box in the bedroom. Wakes up, climbs back on the computer, sleeps some more. Wakes up, sees a spider, plays with it, goes back to sleep. Wakes. Hears person in kitchen and the whole cycle starts over again.
Outdoor cat: sits on the weight bench until dog comes out. Bats at dog with claws and hisses. Jumps down and chases dog then jumps up on barbaque. See person and meows to be fed. Eats. Sleeps. Wakes up and jumps fence to go in the front yard. Climbs up neighbor's stairs and sleeps on their porch. Gets bored and climbs our stairs and sleeps some more. Meows when human approaches, purrs when petted. Goes back to sleep. Climbs back fence. Lays on weight bench and repeats whole process.

During the day if its cool outside they will play, if its hot they will sleep in a cool spot and like them selvs. At night they go places and hunt. Cats will eat more food when its cool and when its hot they dont eat as much. Then theres the obvios things like crap, drink, and eat.

Both of mine lay on my bed and sleep most of the day. They may get up a few times to bat at each other and eat, but that is about it. lol
