It is not true. Christians, Jews, Muslims and all the who violated God commands will go to hell.
Do you remember which muslim make that statement that all the Christians and Jews are going to hell because he is contraditing Qur'an and words of God which teach us that the people who follow the right path will enter heaven.

Only true God??? Real God??? Its exactly this type of comment that doesn't make sense! Unless God appeared before you or rather before the masses and declare as such, you can no more qualify your comments then the person that says Jews and Christians will burn in Hell coz the Koran says so...which I very much doubt...wonder what that person actually read but its definately not the Koran! This is just fishing for comments, more to the point, hateful comments and fierce rebuttals from people of other faiths. You are challenging other faiths, the same as the Muslim person is doing which makes you no better than that person. The only person that needs to be concerned abt whether their God is real is themselves and as for the Hell thingy, well why argue against something that can't be qualified? Its called faith for a reason, let each believe their own.
And on a side note, the bad vibes (which probably spawn more offending statements than "Jews and Christians will burn in Hell") that Muslims feel for Jews and Christian probably stems from the historic behaviour of Jews and Christians towards them and vice versa. And many of these behaviours are offen caused by mis-understanding, mis-interpretation, tit-for-tat, and outright bigotry by the individuals or group believers. And these happen among and against all faiths. And when faith is involved, the problem is that many are more concerned with "saving" others, redeeming others, proving to others, showing off to others and such than individual salvation. If there is a real God(s), he/she/it would probably be appalled and much sadden by such behaviour.
"Its a sad world when humans are so full of themselves that they think they can understand the divine."

No, sweetie. They believe their God is the "real one" and Christians and Jews will burn in Hell because we are "infidels" ~ not faithful to their God. Most Muslims are peaceful and loving. There are those, however, who believe the infidels are filling the world with evil. Many Christians believe the same thing. Just look at some of the answers around here. Can't tell you how many times I've seen a so-called Christian tell someone they're going to Hell for what they do or don't believe.

It's not the people who believe in that, dear, it's the FANATICS who do.The three groups, Christians, Jews and Muslims have the greatest conflicts between them because they've encountered each other the most over the centuries. There's a great difference in cultural norms and the lack of understanding is what caused the rifts. Does it REALLY says that in the Koran? Does it really says the same thing in the bible? Even the way you've expressed your beliefs belies your rigidity i.e. "the one true god".Read the different religion literature and find out for yourself what it says. But find out the answers for yourself, not from others. That's where religious controls comes from- the willingness to blindly follows what others says.Have a good day, dear. :)

Christians, Jews, Muslims, we're all people of the book here. Their God and our God are the same god, "our god is the real one" might be the reason they hate you. But I don't think people of any one religion are selected to burn in hell. Good people of any religion will go to heaven, or whatever afterlife you believe in, and bad people will not. God is supposed to be kind and forgiving, right? Why would he send anyone who's not definitely evil (Hitler, for example) to hell?

Muslims believe in the same God, they just don't read the same book.
Claiming a "one true God" is a faith statement only. There is no fact to that statement, and there can't be. They have as much faith in their version of God, as you do in your version. Therefore, they would have no reason to "hate" you because they think your God is the only god. If they really did hate you, it would be for the opposite reason. They would believe you to be worshiping a false version of God and therefore deemed unworthy of life.
They don't hate you.
Muslims have been at war with Christians and Jews forever. Religion is the root of many a war.

That makes sense to you? Doesn't your Bible say "Thou shalt put no gods before me" and clearly express that those who follow different religions are going to hell and that the only way to get to Heaven is through belief in Jesus Christ? How exactly are the Christians different from the Muslims in this case? By all means, add details to your question and explain how you are at all different. I'd really like to hear it.

Just as some Muslims thing all others will burn in hell ... so do the likes of Jerry Falwell ... a "Christian".
There are fundamentalists in every religion who believe they have all the answers based upon some selected passages in *their" Holy book of choice.
I look at the one sentence that forms the foundation of *ever* major religion on earth: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you!"
That "Golden Rule" is found in every major religion in some form or another. Do you really think that is a coincidence? I don't.
I believe God, in His infinite wisdom, chose numerous prophets to deliver his message of love. I believe that He realized that, because of cultural differences, a different approach was needed for each of them ... to bring them *all* to Him.
This may seem like blasphemy to those who hew to a fundamentalist line in whatever religion in which they believe. That's their choice.
As a Christian ... I believe that His tent is much larger than the "elitists" among us would have you believe.

Don't get too much indulged in religion. I hope some people will give the topic of religion a rest. It's so over-rated, just like racism issues. Actually I find racism more relevant than religion issues. Just be open-minded to each other's differences, period! Sorry, can't help losin' my tact when I read your tag question.
2 minutes after, I realized I'm in the wrong room:p Ok I'll go back to "society and culture":p

Muslims have been at odds with Jews and Christians since the beginning of their religion. The reason is that Mohammed expected help from Christians and Jews since he borrowed many aspects of his new religion from Judeo-Christian beliefs. When he was a child, a misguided Christian monk said that he was destined for greatness. That was why he believed that the Judeo-Christian God was giving him his messages. However, when Jews and Christians rejected his message, and did not help him in his times of dificulty, he felt betrayed, and turned against them. Here are some examples:
Jews were accused of helping his enemiers, the Meccans, when he fled to Medina. He had an entire tribe of Jews massacred. (See Ibn Hisham: The Prophet’s Biography, vol 2, pages 40 and 41.)
While he was in Mecca, before he was rejected, he still expected Jews and Christians to reject their beliefs and come over to him, but when they did not, and the Meccans also rejected him, he turned more violent.
One example is the difference between Surah 29:46 and Surah 9:29. In one he says “And dispute ye not with the People of the Book except with means better (than mere disputation) unless it be with those of them who inflict wrong (and injury): but say “We believe in the Revelation which has come down to us and in that which came down to you; Our Allah and your Allah is one; and it is to Him we bow (in Islam).” In the other he says “Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the last day…Nor acknowledge the religion of truth (Islam), (even if they are) of the people of the Book, until they pay Jizya (tribute tax) with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.” The People of the Book are Christians and Jews who follow the Bible (Book).
