dated 5 yrs, anytime there was a prob., i am always the kindof person that would call and talk about my feelings, and ask for her back in person//phone, so im wondering if she is so used to me putting forth so much effort, if i stop, will she want me back? ill try anything

that's really depends on your GF. You know her the best. Yes, you may. You could make her jealous by dating someone else that she thinks better than her. But, I warn you... it would hurt both of you. And you gain nothing from it. Esp, if she loved you. Trust me, I had it.
Do what you think is right 'coz it's about two of you. No one knows better
