In John 10:34, Jesus says "Is it not written in your Law, 'I have said you are gods' ?", quoting Psalm 82:6. That verse reads"I said, 'You are "gods"; you are all sons of the Most High.' So Jesus if jesus is the son of God, oreven God incarnate, how does this distinguish him?

Did you speak the world into being, or lay down your majesty to come to this earth to sacrifice yourself to redeem fallen mankind? I don't think so. You can recieve His Spirit in you but that will not make you God.

Read the whole New Testament and then study the old Testament relationship to the new. The quick answer is usually not the best answer to any big question.

Thankfully, we're all flawed humans (just perfect the way God made us), so we'll never be "equal" to Jesus. But, we do have the ability to grow into a more meaningful relationship with him. And, when we do this we become the Jesus-follower we are called and made to be in our words and actions.

You are equal with but not to!

A twenty dollar bill is equal with a fifty as it is the same : money

but it is not equal to as you cannot pay for a 50 dollar item with a twenty!

'Let this mind be in you that was in Jesus that he did not consider himself wrong to be equal with God.'
