Or would he rebuke their hypocricy, ego, intolerance and greed. What would he say when he sees the houses, cars, furcoats and airplanes the pastors and his family acquired in Jesus' name.

If Jesus or almost any of the prophets through the ages were to come back, they would be very ashamed of the religions that have sprung up in their name or at least the radical members of them.

ALL of the prophets taught tolerance and helping others. Very few of their religions practice that

The answers you already have are from peoples biased opinions and not from the Bible. Consider this: Abraham is the father of our faith. Do a little research and see whether Abraham was rich or poor since that seems to be the basis of your question. God may also rebuke your hypocrisy, ego, intolerance, greed and. what would he say when he sees your houses, cars, fur coats and airplanes unbelievers and their families acquired in this present age without thinking even to be grate-full to God that gave them the ability to possess all this earthly things. God bless you!!!

I'm Catholic, whereas the pastors with the furcoats and airplanes and the like are generally not Catholic -- but rather are televangelist types like the Bakkers.

The vast majority of the Catholic Church's "leaders" -- priests in particular, but even most bishops -- live relatively simply, in terms of their material lives.

Nevertheless, you're right in that this type of thing does not reflect well on Christ's message.

But this type of thing should not become an excuse for us to lapse the same way that they lapse, or to abandon our faith altogether.

Four years ago, a horrible sex-abuse scandal broke out in the Catholic Church. Most of the sex abuse happened many years before that, of course, but nonetheless, it was a deplorable period in the Church's history in the USA.

Christ would not approve of this anymore than the rest of us. But the proper reaction to this horrible scandal was not to let it scandalize us out of our faith.

The only proper response to this scandal was INCREASED HOLINESS. By everyone -- the laity, the priests, the bishops. Everyone.

I believe that God will judge all according to their obedience to the Spirit of God in them. All outside trappings are but props to create circumstances where the Word of God can be appealing to a natural mind. Under the bridge or in the penthouse does not matter to God. Salvation does and He will do what is necessary to save one soul from eternal damnation.
I do not think God approves of anything that does not line up with His word to man. There are many "Christian" so called leaders that are driving the bus to the wrong location. If you ride their bus, regardless of what you think, you too will end up at the wrong destination.
I would be careful not to judge what you see because you do not know God's purpose in it unless he gives you a prophetic insight to it. He says to judge the fruit of the labor. If the end results is saved souls, then we must assume that it is God's will, even if we do not understand it all.
The Holy Spirit will impress on your soul what is True and what is a deception. This is why it is important to have on the armor on a daily basis.

Yes I believe He would approve. As a Catholic, I believe that my leader, Pope Benedict XVI, was chosen by God himself to be His representation on earth. But I don't believe that he would approve of the material things they acquire through their dedication to the faith. In the Bible, it says that you should give all you have to the poor. So technically, if the priest or pastor is living his life according to the Bible, then shouldn't he give these possessions to those who are more in need or keep them for the Church congregation's use? I believe so.

Absolutely not. In no way did Jesus ever want people to worship him as if he were God. That is all crap. Jesus was a teacher, with a decent message about what was wrong with the Jewish religious leaders of the time. That's it.

Jesus said that it is harder for a rich man to go to heaven than it is for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle. George Bush is rich isn't he. He is supposedly a christian.

I am not a christian and I think that most christians are hypocrits.

About as much as He did of the ones in His own day. With some He was very please. With others, well.. let's just say that when He told them what He thought of them they asked Cesar to nail Him to a cross (after beating Him like a runaway slave).
