One way is to use a taped roller, but being that cat hairs have oils they stick to it still. The best is a two fold step... use the roller and then use the hand brush from the vacuum. I have done this and at times have found that i can go back with roller and get most of the hair.

Good luck,

This is a little time consuming but it works for me (I have 3 cats)

Buy latex or vinal exam gloves at your local pharmacy.
Put them on your hands and lay the blanket down flat. Rub your gloved hands in circles on the blanket and the hair will clump up into balls of fur that you can just pick up. You can wash the blanket after to remove any dander.

I do this with our bedding every week to keep the cat hair under control. This also works great on furniture.

What Macleod said- wash and dry it. I have 3 cats and I have to get fur out of my blankets a lot. Good luck and enjoy your visit!

Buy a lint brush and run it up and down the blanket, peeling off sheets if one is totally coated.
