1. drink lots of water. That's the most important thing.

2. As for the pain, you should be in the hospital! My boyfriend had a kidney stone and they gave him very strong pain killers.

3. Sometimes, if the kidney stone is too big, it will get lodged and not pass. Then you have to have a surgical procedure. So as bad as the pain is, the pain is a good thing. Hang in there, if you can get though this pain, you can get through anything.

Drink plenty of water and take ibuprofen for the pain.

To avoid a kidney stone in the future continue to drink plenty of fluids, exercise regularly, and check all medications to see if they have a tendency to cause kidney stones.

If you continue to hurt and have not progressed on passing the stone see your doctor or go to the ER.

I hope you feel better soon.

DRINK - DRINK - DRINK !
Water, more water and even more water !

What you're trying to do is flush out the sludge to stop it solidifying into a full blown stone.

If you drink enough (the only thing worse than the stone is being awash with water), you should be able to flush it away within hours.

Good luck - it can be a painful thing.

drink lots of cranberry juice and water . . if you are having pain that ibuprofen or any OTC painkiller won't touch, see your doctor for prescription strength . . . you may need to have a stent put in by the doctor to keep your ureters open to pass the stone easier

Lots of water... AND an occasional beer doesn't hurt either.
Seriously.
