We have been together for 2.5 years and I knew that he was deeply hurt in his previous relationship having been used by the girl he loves so deeply for 4 years. I thought he had moved on by being with me. He is my first boyfren and we have been living together for almost 2 years. However, things such as his fav songs contains lyrics that relate to him being left behind by her and lost love. Its just so obvious that i am but a subsitute to him. I love him so much and gave up a lot to be with him, sacrificing family, friends and even my dignity and pride by giving in to his tyrannic ways. Right now, we co-share the rent and a car.

He flares up at me easily and scolds me whenever things don't go well or when I commit a mistake. He also hurl vulgarities at me whenever he is very angry. I really love him so much that I can tolerate all these emotional abuse and I have no place to air my solace except in cyberspace.

Wow 2 years of this abuse? Yes, I would have left a long time ago. Time for you to get yourself someone better or discover who the real you is... Move on by all means.

Have you talked to him about your feelings? If you can't sit and tell him that you feel this way your relationship can't be that strong. You need to communicate with him no matter what. He may lie and say no but at least he is aware of your feelings. If things don't get better then move on.

Have you talked to him about you feeling liek a sub?...if not i advise you to...becuase he might not fsee oyu has a substitute...it could just be you being paranoid...pickinhg uplittle things and making them bigger than they are...you never know until you talk to him...you may feel liek a substitue but you may really be an upgrade...lol
