6 months is fine to plan a wedding... but if you know that you're going to get married in a short time, I would go ahead and book the reception site/ceremony site NOW. And also narrow down who your vendors are. 6 months go by quickly!
Good luck!

6 month is good enough especially if you know what you want ahead of time. You need to realise that you are going to be doing something or other each day of the six months. All also depends on what kind of ceremony you are planning. The key points would be
1. Book you ceremony and reception venue as soon as you can because they get booked around a year in advance.
2. Select the caterers, the menu etc.
3. Get you photographers and Videographers booked.
4. Decide on you dress and prepare for that.
5. Book and select your cake.
6. Get you guest list and invitations readuy. Guest list - around the time you are booking your venues and Invitations atleast 4 months in advance, so that they are out by 3 months prior to the big day.
7. Be organised and delegate duties well so that there is no repetition.
The major things which need booking and selection need to be decided on at the earliest, other things like favors, decorations, centerpieces though they require more time can be decided on in 6 months.
Heres a neat little timeline I found that I am using too, you might want to create your own with the help of this. http://www.fivestarsoftware.com/timeline.htm
Good Luck and Best wishes.

You can definitely plan it in only 6 months as long as you stay organized about it. Having a timeline and help from friends or family is very important at this point. I would start trying to book people and find a dress as early as possible because the sooner you get things done the less rushed you will feel when your wedding gets closer. Good luck!

Of course its possible!
I did not want a big wedding(just a couple of family members only) but 30 days before the big day, my mom decided to get the all shindig and by Jove, she pulled it of with the help of my sister and we end up with close to 200 guest for a sit down reception so 6 months should be more than enough!
Congratulation & have fun planning your big day!

Yes, if this is what you want. If you know basically what you want then yes. To be honest with you, My husband and I planned our wedding in a year and we felt we hardly ever planned it because we knew what we wanted. We had to buy the items but until about 2 weeks before we were fine. The day before was really busy though. Yes you can plan it in this amount of time.

Absolutely. Just get started soon. The hardest part is deciding who to invite, getting invitations, and lining up the location. The cake, flowers, etc can be done within a couple months time of the wedding.

Yeah 6 months is pretty much your cut off date though, Start booking now, but don't plan on having a fancy wedding during that time. But you could definately plan someting nice.

My bride and I were engaged in february, and will be married on August 4. Although it will be hectic, it can definitely be done. What i would suggest is lock in the big things as quickly as possible, location, caterer, music. This may mean that you can't research every location or caterer in your area, but find something you like and just go with it. qucik decisions are a must.
Congratulations.

Six months is PLENTY of time to plan a wedding. All you need is a groom, a venue and an officiant. Just remember that there is no such thing as perfection. Go for it.
