www.evilbible.com? Or simular websites....
Or the Bible which these websites are beased on?
Would it not be better to read the book and base your opinions on the book, and not someone's biased opinion on the book?
I've been to many anti-bible websites and they take a small verse and dont tell the whole story. They make it look 'evil' when they are not taking the entire story. Its east to make something look wrong when you take it out of context.

Good stuff! I'm happy to see that many of you guys are getting your facts from the Bible! I've just talked to some people who base their whole knowledge of the Bible on websites.

It would be better to read the book, but I don't see many Christians studying ancient Middle Eastern languages in order to read the original. Far as I can tell, you have based your interpretation of the Bible on someone's biased opinion of the book...

I have read the Bible, but I'm not one of those that make insulting statements and comments. But, just like a Christian can quote the Bible to support their answer, an atheist can always find another passage that contradicts it. That's probly one of the biggest problems atheists I know have with the Bible.

Oh come on. Anybody with half a brain can analyze the bible and see a huge amount of idiotic things like plants being created before the sun. If you don't believe me go look it up. After looking it up and seeing I'm right go to www.skepticsannotatedbible.com and see much more of these problems with the bible.

I've been to those types of websites too... some do take a verse and twist it... others back up with they say. It's the same with most websites.
www.skepticsannotatedbible.com
I'm sure you'd find this one evil... but it tells you exactly where to find everything... it's not like you can't read it for yourself anyway.

Actually skepticsannotatedbible.com has the bible in it's entirety. It's up to you if you want to read the comments on the side.
Where do you get your analysis of the bible from? Is it a preacher? Or do you read books written by preachers who interpret the bible to suit their needs?

People can take almost a piece of anything and turn it into whatever they want.
They are atheists not because they have good reason to be one, but because they want proof of everything in existance. Faith is not in their vocabulary.
I feel very sorry for these poor souls who will not be enjoying eternity as I will be.
When they finally find out how wrong they have been...it will be too late then.

You make a good point. If one is going to argue against something, one should make a genuine effort to understand it. Going to the source is important.
Unfortunately, I don't think most religious people know their own scriptures as well as they think they do. There is much in the Jewish, Christian, and Muslim scriptures that strikes me as immoral and unconscionable, yet religious people swallow it as gospel because it is there in "the Book." There is no effort to justify its morality. Just "it's God's word" or "Allah's will" and that's the way it is.

Try skepticsannotatedbible.com, they have the entire text there, and they have all the inconsistencies and immoral stuff nicely organized so you can link right to the chapter and see exactly what context it is found in.

Back in the old days when I was a Christian I read the Bible.
I didn't have a preacher over my shoulder interpolating for me and skipping me around so I took it as it was.
I realized then that it was rubbish.
