i am a christian. i do not believe that the sacrifice of salvation is worth losing, no matter how the worldly issue would hurt.
i would die in a heartbeat to save the lives of any of my children, my grandchildren (i'm 42) and my wife. perhaps even some of my friends.
as a soldier, i have rushed the enemy, when i could have sat relatively safely back and let someone else do it, but i swore to uphold our constitution, and i cannot morally not also protect my soldiers.
what good is living a thousand years of health and wealth if after that thousand years is over, you have an eternity of suffering?

i used to think so , but now i don't, let me explain
self preservation is the most power full instinct in a human being , so you would expect that sacrificing self is the greatest of all, but the question arises what would push some one to sacrifice self
HELVETIUS ( a philosopher ) states that man is driven by 2 things , seeking pleasure and avoiding pain
in my book this is the ultimate TRUTH .
think about it , one can sacrifice self for the stupidest of reasons ( suicide) = avoiding pain
or the Nobelist of reasons
martyrdom = seeking pleasure of after life
what do you think?

You have to understand who Jesus is. It is the I AM. He said that before Abraham was I AM. This mean that he is everywhere and in every time present. So right how present before Him, he is creating the world and is enthroned at the end of the age. The thing many want to ignore is right now He is nailed to the cross dieing for the sins of the world. He is there now and will always be there, eternally. That is the HEAVY price that no one but God Himself could pay for us.

God sacrified His Son's life for the world. Read John 3:16 then Read John ch 1. over and over and over until you get it.
After you give your life, what do you have left to sacrifice? Seems to me that it would be ultimate sacrifice.

right here there are 2 subject matters in touch : a million) The universal sacrifice of the soul to come back down in this sordid, ignorant ,darkish, evil, filthy earth, and a couple of) The sacrifice at someone element. on the universal element it truly is what an truly good logician , Poet and Yogi has were given to assert : " In her deep and massive love for her toddlers she has consented to placed on herself the cloak of this obscurity, condescended to undergo the attacks and torturing impacts of the powers of the Darkness and the Falsehood, borne to flow by potential of the portals of the start it truly is a demise, taken upon herself the pangs and sorrows and sufferings of the introduction, because it appeared that therefore on my own ought to it is lifted to the mild and exhilaration and reality and eternal existence. it truly is the whole sacrifice called now and again the sacrifice of the Purusha, yet much better deeply the holocaust of Prakriti, the sacrifice of the Divine mom. " -- Sri Aurobindo. 2) on the fellow element, it truly is by technique of giving that one receives, it truly is by technique of giving that actual love is born and remains ever eco-friendly contained in the fields of no longer only earth yet even in Elysium. it truly is by technique of the sacrifice of the freeddom warring parties of our usa that today we are a free usa.

The Scripture says, " Greater love hath no man than this, that a man would lay down his life for his friends." That's a statement in itself when the question of sacrificing one's life for others. Ask a soldier; he'll let you know in a minute that the reward is most certainly worth the risk.

For us I believe the bigger sacrifice is living for Jesus.
The sacrifice that Jesus offered was greater than we can comprehend, everyone who dies dies for themselves - Jesus on the other hand died for the world. He knew that he would rise again but that still make it easy to bear the full penalty that he had to bear.

all who believe that Christ Jesus is Lord and call upon His name will inherit eternal life. It has to be with a contrite heart though. And a firm belief that God is compassionate, abounding in steadfast love to all who seek Him and obey His commandments.
