At the time of the attack there was still a question as to whether it was US soil, but that's not what you're looking for. A little over a hundred people were killed. Indians started the attack, white men finished it, a dark day in the history of Utah for sure, but there were plenty of other larger events.

Just sounds like another killing in the name of the "Prince of Peace"

It took place in a compressed time/space but it is probably no worse than any other.
