Me too! I don't like the purified water as it tastes a little flat and almost slightly bitter. Actually the purified water doesn't have chemicals in it, instead, it has been distilled and all the minerals have been removed, leaving only the water.
Spring water contains natural minerals, that's why it tastes different and in my personal opinion, better. My favorite is Evian!

You have to remember to read the bottle before you buy it. Some waters are purified and minerals are added, maybe that's what you taste in the Dasani (my favorite).. Spring water like Dannon Spring, and that's the name of it, is also a great water. It's a spring water with a very clear taste. There is also distilled water. You have to find the kind that you like and buy that brand. I like the taste of Dasani and it has minerals added which I need and prefer.

I think the only way you can REALLY tell if you are tasting the chemicals or that you can tell the difference between the two is to have a blind taste test. I would imagine the taste difference is marginal. But even if you do, you may have sensitized taste buds. If you drink enough of one type of drink, when you taste something different, the difference in taste is much more pronounced. At least based on my own experience. I drink a lot of Coca~Cola and so when I taste something else like Pepsi, or RC, I can tell the difference immediately. I'm also convinced I can tell the difference between can, bottle, and fountain.

I can notice the difference too. Like you said, when I drink purified water (DASANI) I taste chemicals. I would rather drink spring water...because I don't taste chemicals. We have a purifier on our facet at home and I can even taste the chemicals in that water.

I can taste a difference too, but I don't *hate* purified water. After all purified water *is* better than tap water. It's just not as good as spring water...

Wow. Thats pretty amazing that you taste CHEMICALS in PURIFIED water....
Just think about that for a moment...let it sink in..........yes, there it is....dawning realization.................
IF ITS PURIFIED, IT DOESNT HAVE CHEMICALS IN IT. Read the label - reverse osmosis does not require chemicals, and neither does oxygenation of water.
