If you absolutely have to stay uptown (pricey and stuffy) I think the name is erminia? But the City is quite easy to navigate. You can find pretty much everything you need right along the Avenue of the americas. I am a bit more of a midtown kind of girl.

The greatest Italian restaurants are the small sidewalk type cafe's that you find in Little Italy. They are less expensive, intimate and quaint and the food is better hands down! If you're just looking for great food and not an actual sit down meal, run over to Dean and Deluca.

If you want fancy though I suggest Mario Batali's restaurant Babbo, get the sampler! But you will have to make reservations like a decade in advance unless you pick a late or an inconvienient time like 3:00 in the afternoon for dinner...

properly, Goodache became so astounding to tutor me as someone who's conscious lots about Brooklyn (and that i do), yet i'm embarrassed to assert that i quite don't understand as a lot about both Williamsburg or Dumbo, except the undeniable reality that when Dumbo became quite business and Willamsburg became an ethnic enclave for Italians and Chasidim. both neighborhoods were "pioneered" by technique of artists, and grew to change into desireable by using surroundings, large perspectives, and proximaty to new york. today they're both VERY favorite, quite extreme priced neighborhoods, with a great number of luxury structure going up. some human beings may say that one and all this structure is ruining the feel of the community. Dumbo is a touch small community that became virtually solely business area switched over to residential. Williamsburg is a lot higher and has so much better contained in the blend. It has some public housing, some business areas that were switched over to residential, and some small brownstone homes. The north aspect became the position the artists settled and the south aspect remains usually Chasidim. There are different parts of Brooklyn i understand so much better about. you should look at top right here neighborhoods in "Brownstone Brooklyn": Park Slope (wonderful and extreme priced) Brooklyn Heights (wonderful, on the point of new york, extreme priced) Boerum Hill (particularly, and particularly extreme priced, no longer as accessible) Cobble Hill (lots like Boerum Hill) Carroll Gardens (lots like the perfect 2, yet somewhat better of a actual position, and better personality) pink Hook (the wild west, yet large perspectives and cheap prices - you ought to have A motor vehicle!!!) Windsor Terrace (the "detrimental guy's" Park Slope, yet nevertheless no longer less expensive) Kennsington (ditto) Prospect Heights (lots like the Slope, yet rougher in some spots and somewhat more low priced) sunset Park (less extreme priced, a promising up and coming community)

dona on 52nd and 3rd.. i ate there last night - AMAZING.. beautifuly decorated, service was amazing, food was incredible. I highly reccommend the cod fish appetizer and i don't eat meat, but 2 people I was with had the steak and literally said it was the best steak they have ever had.

they claim to be "southern mediteranian" cuisine, but they definitely have enough of an italian influence to be considered italian...
