Smaller breeds normally deliver in 58 to 60 days after breeding. It is a good idea to know how many puppies to expect so you can go to the vet if there is a problem. You should have the ***** x-rayed during the last 10 days of the period to see how many puppies are present. The bones start to calcify during this time so they show up on x-rays.

I agree, IF you have no knowledge of WHEN she got pregnant then you do not know when the puppies will whelp, and you should not have let her breed at all, she probably has bred with some wondering dog and the puppies will not be wanted! Sad as it may seem, I would get her fixed right now and the puppies will not suffer, they will not be born into a world that does not want them. Sorry but it is true. Just look at all the mixed breeds filling the shelters and being killed in there! Save the puppies the torture of being unwanted NOW! Also you will have saved your dog some, POSSIBLE hard labor. You do not know what breed she is carrying she might have a problem if the dog that mated with her is too large. She could also be carrying puppies that have bad blood lines or illnesses! If you do not know her delivery date you do not know when bred or what she bred with!
Please act responsibly now.

it is on average 63 days from the ovulation. Which from the first tie can be as early as 59 days- 64 days out. this is with any breed.
You can also around week 4-5 have an ultrasound done to look for puppies or by 52 day get a rough count of heads by x-ray.
They also have a pregnancy test looking for relaxin that can be given at about a month along but if a small litter could give false negative. I would opt for the ultrasound.

about 2 months (60-64 days)
you can get the dog fixed while she is pregnant. it costs a little more, but if you don't want puppies, it is possible.

Yes, I agree, the normal gestation period for any dog, and I think cats too is 63 days. But hey, just like any animal, they could come early or late.

they vommit them up after a few weeks- but most people save the trouble and have them aborted. For more information on puppy abortion, visit www.PETA.org/doggieRoevsWade
