Do you have a veterinary teaching hospital in the area? You can often get the surgeries done there for much less than in a vet office. The care is very good...sometimes better actually...students are monitored closely by highly skilled professional vets and the students monitor the pet very carefully throughout their stay.

Find out what the operations are called. Get other quotes.
I can simpathyse with you. There is no amount I wouldn't spend on my pets health either. It just sounds really expensive, thats all. As for raising the money. Payment plan with vet, or famliy with a payment plan.

Ask your vet if you can work out a payment plan. Mine allows me to pay 50% up front and then pay as I go for the rest. It depends on how old you are as to what kind of work you can legally do. If you are of age and have good credit, you can apply for Care Credit. It can be used if the vet hospital will accept it. You get 90 days to pay interest free--but it's a huge interest rate if you do not pay. Best of luck to you.

I wouldfind out if they would be willing to help you out. If you have been a client there for a while, they would probably consider it. What we usually do is 50% down...then the rest of it over 3-4 months by held check. Or get a credit card! Find a good friend or relative willing to help you out?
