Actually, L7's not only hit very hard, they have surprisingly good sound quality, if you like deep bass. Just don't go for the slightly cheaper L5's; they look the same, but sound horrible. They do require alot of power, so you'd only be able to push one 12" L7 properly with your amp. Of course, it would hit as hard as two Alpine Type R's, so I doubt you'd notice.
Oh, and my one 1" Polk tweeter is also doing 138 SPL's.

Also, you can consider an Alpine Type-X speaker. Nobody really likes to talk about them around here but they are competition subwoofers made to compete with the JL W7 speakers. I had two in my Eclipse and it made it hard to breath. They will AT LEAST come equal to an L7. They retail for 500 but you can get one for 269 + shipping on sonicelectronix.com. Again, you will only be able to use one because of the size of your amp.
Take RMS into consideration though to decide which one will be better. The RMS of the Type-X is 500 watts per coil, or 1,000 watts. The RMS of the L7 is 750 watts. The RMS power output on your amp is only 500 watts, that runs below both subs, but the peak is 1000 so you should be fine.

I got 2 12" Audiobahn AW1206T's for sale for 250 with the box the subs are 150 a piece in the store and mine are in mint condition you can take a look if you go to my profile and click the link send me a message if you want them. Dont listen to the guy about the rms of your amp. JL makes top notch sht and your amp is probably putting out about 700 to 750 rms. They just underrate their stuff so its not like false advertising but a 200 watt difference is dangerous cause thats enough to blow a sub if you dont know about which companys underrate

Hey Bro i have a Kicker Solo Baric L7 10" sub. It is a 1200 watt max power sub that makes my truck pound. I recommend it highly. It really depends on how much space you have to work with. You can get a killer set up off eBay for about 3-500 bucks. If you want a 12" sub you might need a bit bigger amp. I have a 1000 watt kenwood that makes my one 10" pound. Good luck Ryan
I am hitting 138 db's with my 10" solo baric lol

Well there is soooo many subs out there in that price range that will do what your looking for. I guess it really depends if you wanna go for SPL or SQL. Personally If you want a lotta boom for under 500 go with a 12" or 15" Kicker L7, They hit very hard. You can get them off sounddomain.com for around 260. For SQL I would go with something like a MTX 7500 or 8500. The new Alpine type R is a decent sub as well. With only one 12" I hit 138db which isn't too shabby for one 12.

WOW, THATS A PRETTY GOOD BUDGET. AS THE PREVIOUS ANSWERER THERE ARE MANY SUBS YOU CAN GO WITH, MY PERSONAL FAVORITE IS AUDIOBAHN AND I HAPPEN TO ALSO OWN ONE, THEY DO MAKE GOOD SUBWOOFERS, DESPITE WHAT PEOPLE SAY. ALSO ANOTHER SPEAKER THAT I BELIEVE IS AWSOME, BUT I HAVE NEVER HEARD IN PERSON IS HIFONICS. THEY MAKE KICK AS$ AMPS AND IM SURE THERE SUBS ARE THE SAME QUALITY.
