It depends on the jewellery.
If it's an engagement ring, then yes I would ask that it be removed. Anything else is just stuff...
My ex gave me a few rings, the only one I wear is a Pentegram that he bought for me, the first I ever owned. I don't still wear it because it reminds me of him (at all, actually) but I wear it because it is symbolic of my faith and it was a turning point in my spiritual journey.
Happily enough, my boyfriend doesn't have a problem with it. He's smart enough and secure enough to know that I don't buy into materialistic things and that the meaning behind this ring does not mean I harbour feelings for my ex. And he has enough respect for me not to demand I remove it to make him feel more at ease.
What you need to ask is, why is this person holding onto it? What memory is being cherished? What significance does it hold? If then, it seems that your partner is still in love with their ex, then it's the relationship that needs to be removed, not the jewellery. If indeed your partner wears it simply because they like it, then the issue is your own and you simply need to get over it or move on.

there is no time reduce. If it replaced right into a wedding ceremony ring, i'd have the stones re-set in some thing that doesn't seem as if a wedding ceremony set. i'd not positioned on the ex's wedding ceremony ring, EVER. i'd have it melted down or re-set. I bought mine back to my ex because it replaced into area of a matched set and ought to easily accept to the little ones afterward. My journey is my substantial different would not extremely like it when I positioned on the jewellery my ex gave me. the unhappy element is that one receives not some thing attempting to resell rings, and there are some such issues as bracelets that would't be re-set. I shop it because i do not opt to promote it for a million/10th of what replaced into paid for it. I positioned on it even as i'm not round him.

try talking to them about it? maybe they just wear it out of habit and don't even realize they're doing it... like my ex gave me his necklace that he never took off cuz he wanted me to wear it and i never took it off either and after we broke up and i started dating again, i didn't even realize i was still wearing it because i had been for so long... so just be like my boyfriend and casually mention it and tell them that you think its disrespectful
or it might be that they just like the jewelry... don't freak out about it... its prolly not a big deal
or if you want a more subtle way, buy them something to replace it... like if they're wearing a bracelet from an ex, buy them a bracelet and hopefully they'll get the hint and wear yours instead

i still wear jewlery from my ex and my current BF is ok with it, he's confident enough, you know. But if this bothers him i wouldn't wear it again because now my BF is more important than a stupid piece of jewlery. For me, I consider it as a piece of jewlery i own & I don't care who gave it to me.

I love the fact that my ex still wears her ring. It gives me a big happy smile to think that her new BF gets to see that on her finger. Kinda like a reminder that I was there first.

It's okay - as long it's not a engagement ring! Think of it as "she dumped the ex for you jewelry"!
