Right away. I have a 15 month old girl that goes to school. Kids now days have to know a lot more things than we did to get into Kindergarten. Like the alphabet and how to count. How to write and small words. Stuff like that.

I am a Peschool teacher I would say 3. Preschool is not all about ABC'S AND 123,S. It is more about social skills and being able to be away from their parents. It really does help them when it is time to go to "big school" as we call it. And plus he'll have lots of fun.

Each state is different. Public schools will tell you when the compulsory age of attendance is.
I myself went to Catholic preschool and credited that with helping me to read BEFORE going to kindergarten. So, I would suggest that if he is younger than that compulsory age, he should go to preschool.
