I refuse to believe that life is just a test, and that everything important to me - the love I have for my wife, the light of a bright summer morning, the people I am reaching with my words, my feeling of oneness with the universe - is just a means for me to get brownie points for another life. I'm not in high school any more. I measure my life by how much I fulfill my own values, not on how the teacher is grading me.
Why limit your mind and your life?

Hitler fulfilled his values too. Does that make it right? What is wrong with core values that make you take into consideration those around you? Your wife is truly blessed if you do indeed love her with a love that passes understanding. THAT would make for happiness in your life. Now---we don't believe in grading scale either. We all fail. But when we accept a love greater than anything we can know or imagine then we understand the freedom that comes with that knowledge. Just because we are free agents doesn't mean we have to ascribe to the idea "if it feels good, DO IT!" We need to understand that there are so many needs we can fulfill if we would open our eyes and hearts with the determination to fill someone else's need. WE forget sometimes that just sitting and listening can cost us nothing but "time" and that is a commodity no one is assured. Using our 24 hours every day to its fullest potential doesn't mean that we are looking for brownie points---it means we want to be involved in someone's life other than our own. Remember, core values are something you learned as a child. Passed on from parents to children. I wonder what Hitler's parents were like. ;-)

"Life is a test.
It is only a test.
Had this been a real
life you would have been
instructed where to go and
what to do." Whenever I think
of this humorous bit of wisdom, it
reminds me to not take life so seriously.
When you look at life and its many challenges
as a test, or series of tests, you begin to see each
issue you face as an opportunity to grow, a chance to
roll with the punches. Whether you're being bombarded
with problems, responsibilities, even insurmountable
hurdles, when looked at as a test, you always have
a chance to succeed, in the sense of rising above
that which is challenging you. If, on the other
hand, you see each new issue you face as a
serious battle that must be won in order
to survive, you're probably in for a
very rocky journey. The only time
you are likely to be happy is
when everything is working
out just right. And we
all know how often
that happens.

I'd love to take credit for the above,
but it came from a book entitled
DON'T SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF
and it's all small stuff

Hello,

I do think this life is a test. It depends how you interprete what this life means. I do love meeting people and the people i meet., talk with, have conversation friends and family....i have friends from different faith to mine and its very interesting to see from their point of view, what next.....i was having a conversation with someone and i was like nothing lasts forever....and the person said that is somewhat true and i asked about God then, the person said there has to be something Eternal.....think about it, we live in a bad world that everything we see and touches have their own hidden agenda, where physical beauty is passed as beauty and people would do almost anything to get what they want..in regards to who gets hurt.....

i would not say i am limiting my life, because life is what you make of it and also you make the decision on what to do, that is why God gave us free will

Take care and God bless

Nah, it's more like a pop quiz. The real surprise is, you're being tested if you're just trying to get brownie points for the next life.

I believe it's not so much a test as it is an opportunity to (i) savour this physical world, (ii) enrich oneself through relationships, (iii) develop one's spirit (as in "character"), (iv) fulfill the grand plan. Think of it as the caterpillar stage in the life of a butterfly, except of course infinitely more complex.

Why not limit this life to leading a good and Faithful life so that you can have life everlasting? i'd rather spend eternity with God instead of in a Lake of Fire.
