Im an ex christian. I prayed to God and found myself in the *new age* section of the bookstore. the rest is history To me christianity has made me nothing but miserable, and most of the people in it in my opinion are hypocritical fools.

Being saved is not crap. It is real. It is a totally peaceful feeling. It felt like a sponge sucked up all the negative and ill feelings I harbored. I felt contentment, love, compassion and understanding in my heart. I felt a great relief at truly knowing Jesus has foregiven all my sins and healed me. If you truly believe in Jesus and are humbly sincere, you will know you are saved. Read the healing words of the Bible, that might help. Good luck, and God bless.

It sounds like you were just doing it to do it, not because you truly believe and want Jesus to become your Lord and Savior. It is easy to say the words, but if you don't mean it with all your being, if you are just saying the words to see if it works, it doesn't work.
1. You have to acknowledge and know that you are sinner
2. You have to earnestly (key word is earnestly) ask for
forgiveness of those sins.
3. Then you have to acknowledge Jesus as Lord of all-not just
you but the entire world and everything in it.
4. Then you ask him to become your savior and truly your Lord
5. You must believe that Christ came to earth as a perfect
sacrifice as a means to save us from our sins. (John 3:16)

It doesn't have to be done in that order, but that is the basics, and you have it mean it--it is not just something you can try out and see if it fits. That may seem harsh, but unfortunately it is the Truth.

This is going to be biased-well, all answers will be.
I had the same troubles you did in my early teens. I wanted to believe, I wanted to feel Jesus in my heart (because I was petrified of going to hell, and it was supposed to be such an amazing expirience). I went to Sunday School, I went to church, I read the Bible, and I prayed and prayed and prayed. I lived my life as Christian-like as I could.
What I ended up feeling was empty, alone, and confused. I truly believe that people who claim to have Jesus in their hearts and claim to being saved really CONVINCE themselves it is true. However, I have never been good at lying, including to myself. I wish you lots of luck on your spiritual journey, and hope you find what you are looking for. Blessed be!

well it is one thing to ask Jesus into your life and still call it crap. If you just ask and do nothing else, I can say it probably won't happen. It is also a way of life. You have to truly believe, read, go to church and worship. And most definitely, don't call it a bunch of crap.

You have to be willing to give up all your own thoughts wants and desires....it is about worship. If you are sick of you're life and commit to love and serve him. Maybe that means giving up things....if u are willing he will change your life. R u willing? It is so worth it. He saved me at 18 but by 23 i turned back to desires of this world and of the flesh and now I am trying to get back on track at 32 the longer in sin the harder it is to return but i would do anything to feel the holy spirit again.

Time for an attitude check. Your first course of instruction is "do not temp the Lord they God" you can't force God to do anything. "unrighteous words fall on deaf ears".. Jesus will not come into your heart until you sincerely mean it.

Keep trying , you'll get it right. God bless

if you go into asking Jesus to fill your heart with negitive thoughts you're allready trying to disprove it. I would suggest going in sincerely wanting Jesus to fill your heart. Pray to God so that he shows you his love and gives you the strength to find Faith in Jesus.

I know that when I depart from this world I know that I will be in heaven, and no one can take my salvation away.........Jesus is not a genie, wish for something and POOF, there it is...Jesus works differently.
