James 2:14What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
15If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
16And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
17Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
If you say that you love and have faith in Jesus then you follow Him and what he says and do. Remember he says to us to take up our cross and follow Him.
How can I say that I love Jesus and have faith in him but I do not follow his commandments? Read Revelation 22:14 and Revelation 14. All those who will go to heaven will also follow God's commandments...

If you take verses out of context then you can make them say what you want. - What is faith without works? What about baptism - Acts 2:38 Repent and be baptized? Christ was baptised so shouldn't we and I don't mean the pouring of water over a baby's head.
Faith is just the first step but it is more than faith to get to heaven.

We get saved only by the grace and mercy of God. When you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, ask forgivenss of your sins and repent...you will have a new heart...and then you want to do all tings that are desireable in the eyes of God...but you do not get saved by our deeds.
Paul teaches us to how to become a Christian, and James is teaching us what is expected from us if we truly follof Christ.
I think that those verses you gave talk about the leaders. God expects more from the leaders. But all of us can be saved only by our faith in Christ.

The point of this verse is that Christ is telling us that it is not enough to say that you believe something and not do something about it. If you truly believe in Jesus and what he did while he lived, you would want to serve and worship him in all that you do. Works alone will not get anyone into heaven. You have to believe in what Christ did for us. Paul wrote many times that salvation is through faith in Christ alone.

True. Jesus also speaks about being kind to others.
"when I was hungry - you fed me, when when I was naked- you clothed me....etc" Then they ask God when they did those things for him and God replied that when helping others , you are helping him.
Christ was perfect. He not only preached the word of God, but used it in his life. He helped others, was selfless, and did god's will. We are not perfect. Christ is our example. Also- when god told us that when we do things for others we are serving him, he gave us another way to show our thanks to him.
But it is like a cake. If you take away the eggs, it doesn't come out so good. Likewise with this case. You must have Good Works as well as repent, be baptised, have faith. We need ALL these things to get to heaven.
And this shows that you have FAITH that god will send you to heaven if you do as he asks.

Read the book of James that adds, faith without works is dead. The entire bible must be considered on a subject. Not just the convenient verses.

Because Bible is a fairy tale and if you read Romans 8 would say that a Christian is always right and if you read Matthew 23, beware of those that try to impose you their religion, So what is the conclusion of the book of contradictions.

Because faith alone does not get you to heaven. People just depict certain verses out of the Bible to create their own version that best suites their life. That way they "think" they can do whatever they want and still get to heaven if they believe. Your proof that this is wrong? Satan believes in God, and is he in heaven?

Faith in Christ doesn't mean u simply take His name and expect him to throw success towards u. Faith in Christ means , u work hard and do ur best and leave the rest to Christ. Amen

Your works reflect your heart, which is what Christ judges. So if your heart is with Christ, then your works will follow. But simply good works will not do as Jesus said "I am the way, the truth, and the light."
