Most children in Muslim countries learn in madrassas and are given no formal education whatsoever... they only read over and over the verses of the Koran, which are full of instructions that all enemies should be killed and even allows for the raping of the women of dead enemy fighters... thus the brainwashing of the young to grow up to be terrorists, because they have no skill to do anything else. Keeping the youth uneducated and ignorant is a necessity for Islamic countries so they do not question the ridiculous systems that govern them.

Dhaka, (IANS) A teacher in a madrassa in northern Bangladesh cut off the ears of 17 children with a pair of scissors because they were not reading their textbooks loudly.

Angry parents and guardians caught the teacher, Moulana Abdul Majid, from a nearby village in Bogra district and beat him up. Some elders rescued Majid and sent him to a nearby hospital.

The managing committee of the madrassa initially tried to hide the incident, which occurred Tuesday, but later admitted it and sacked Majid, the Bangla daily Prothom Alo reported Thursday.

Some 25 children, aged between five and eight and belonging to poor and middle-class families, study at the madrassa. The school's only room was used both for classes and as a living quarter.

The children said Majid whipped them mercilessly for not reading their lessons at the top of their voices after afternoon prayers Tuesday.

"But it did not reduce his anger and he cut off our ears with a pair of scissors," one of the students said.

The students attacked by Majid were taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The acts such as above and the killing of innocent commuters on trains, in buildings, the beheading of aid workers, the killing of Muslims by Muslims because they are Sunni or Shia, the veneration of cold blooded killers as heroes... these are not in a book retelling what happened 2500 years ago, these are all happening now and all by one religious group...

For Biomemitik... the God of the Old Testament is the God of Abraham... the founder of both Judaism and Islam, according to both religions, that is why Christianity, Islam and Judaism are known as Abrahamic religions. So, the God of the Old Testament is the same God that Muslims worship...

I'm not sure they ARE misinterpreting the Qu'ran. I think they are doing what they're supposed to do, according to the Qu'ran: wage war on the Unbeliever. The book is full of hatred for Christians, polytheists, and especially Jews. It's an ugly book that cannotb e of Divine origin. But then, neither is the Bible ...

I think it's just an excuse to suicide bomb things. The Koran (no Al-) teaches peace and tolerance of other religions. I have no idea how they misinterpreted that into blowing things up.

The Western mass media complements the scientifically discovered notion to poison the public perceptions and source of judgments against the Arabs and Muslims. The Neo-Conservatives helped to rob the humanity of its human heritage. The perception of ‘radical Islam’ was invented and enhanced by the ‘fear’ of terrorism and as a precursor to attack Muslims.

But, be under no illusion, Muslims do answer back with the language you or Bush understand. Tune in to the right channels and, watch with awe and wonder.
