Sweet and sour chicken is quick and delicious! Either buy a jar of sauce or....
dessert spoon of honey
1/2 a small bottle of sweet chilli dipping sauce
teaspoon of fresh grated ginger
a chopped garlic clove
2 teaspoons of sesame oil
1 orange, zest and juice
4 tablespoons of olive oil, more if you think it needs it.
Mix together well and bung your chicken in (I use drumsticks but any cut will do) and leave for as long as possible. I normally leave it for about 2 hours. Cook the chicken in the oven and heat the marinade while it's cooking, you can spoon some over the chicken to baste it if you want. Serve with rice, I normally cook some veg to stir into it.
Let me know how it goes if you use the recipe....... :)

Garlic Roast Chicken Ingredients 1 (5 to 6-pound) roasting chicken Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper 2 heads garlic, cut in 1/2 crosswise 1 lemon, halved 1/2 large Spanish onion, thickly sliced 4 carrots cut diagonally into 2-inch chunks 2 large Yukon gold potatoes, cut into 6 pieces 4 tablespoons butter, melted Directions As soon as you get the chicken home, salt it inside and out, wrap it and keep it in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. When you are ready to cook the chicken, first preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. Pat the outside of the chicken dry with paper towels. Liberally salt and pepper the inside of the chicken and stuff the cavity with the all the garlic and lemon. Tie the legs together with kitchen string and tuck the wing tips under the body of the chicken. Place it in a roasting pan just large enough to hold it and the vegetables. Scatter the onion slices, carrots and potatoes around the chicken. Brush the outside of the chicken with the butter and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Roast the chicken for 1 1/2 hours, or until the juices run clear when you cut between a leg and thigh. Remove the chicken to a platter and cover with aluminum foil. Place the vegetables back in the oven and continue cooking for an additional 15 minutes. When the vegetables are cooked, carve the chicken and place the slices on the platter surrounded by the vegetables. Drizzle some pan juices over the chicken and vegetables.

Pasta with pesto sauce.
Pesto is a sauce made with Basil, Parmigiano cheese, and nuts (usually pine nuts but in pre-made brands sometimes chashews or walnuts).
Go for the premade kind. It's still really good and will save you the hassel of making it.
Boil up some pasta, drian it, add the sauce and (if you want) get precooked chicken slices made by Perdue and plop them right in as well. Stir everything well then serve hot.
Personally I like extra Parmigino on the side. Maybe a little salad, a little Italian bread, some wine, a couple of candles ^_~.
Good luck in your new home !

Spaghetti with Peppery No-Cook Tomato Sauce:
Strong ingredients--like pungent cheese, sharp olives, fruity olive oil, and briny capers--give this pasta sauce plenty of flavor so there's no cooking necessary. Quickly peel tomatoes by plunging them into the boiling pasta water (before adding the pasta) for 20 seconds; remove with a slotted spoon, and quickly rinse under cold water. The skins will slip right off.
1 pound uncooked spaghetti
2 cups chopped seeded peeled tomato (about 5 medium tomatoes)
1 cup (4 ounces) crumbled ricotta salata or feta cheese
1/3 cup chopped pitted kalamata olives
1/4 cup capers
1 1/2 tablespoons extravirgin olive oil
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
4 garlic cloves, minced
Cook pasta according to package directions, omitting salt and fat. Drain.
Combine tomato and remaining ingredients in a large bowl. Add pasta, and toss well to combine. Serve immediately.
Yield: 8 servings (serving size: about 1 1/3 cups)

Linguine with clam sauce, garlic bread, salad. Then maybe some ice cream with fresh fruit on top? Usually the cans of chopped clams have a recipe on the back. If you can, use fresh herbs, it will make it much better than dried. Add the chopped basil (if using fresh) just before serving so the flavor really pops.
