The idea is just great but not unprecedented. I would not recommend questions like "whose religion is the best?" That would not be very intellectual. Why don't ask questions like "Could we establish some common ground departing from the notion that all religions are basically the same, a call for a just; humane and compassionate world?" Or "how can religion be instrumental in a global effort to end wars and conflicts and establish a new world order based on love and mutual understanding?"

Any religion that shuns, bans or looks down on another human being is not for me. I do not conform to bigotry in any sense of the word. That is why I do not believe in Jesus or Christianity.
Too much hatred and shunning of others who are 'different'.
I do not believe in FEAR.....only LOVE. Organized religion is fear-based.
I believe in God....a Supreme Being....a Higher Power, and I do not apologize to anyone for my belief. I grew up basically agnostic and became an alcoholic.
I prayed to God....not to Jesus...but to God, to remove the addiction from my life.
I have been sober 22 years and have never even considered taking another drink. The obsession was gone....taken away as I asked.
God worked for me without a religious label.

I know and participate in some forums of this kind already, but if you would like to start you own...go for it! Otherwise, check out Yahoo!Groups under Religion & Beliefs (see link below).

This type of comment (being that you didn't ask a question) will only lead to heated debates, which all of us know, we already have enough of without your help. If you are hoping to find out which religion you belong to through this, don't even try it. Honestly, I don't think this is such a good idea.
Oh, and next time, ASK a question because this is Yahoo ANSWERS, not Yahoo COMMENTS.

Good on you, but why should they have to debate which religion is the right one will this not cause conflicit between the people and the religions.
I'd be careful with this one you might have good intentions and not want to cause any conflict but other people don't think the same way intelligent or not.

It sounds like a good idea. There are so many people around trying to force their ideas on others, it makes a change to hear from someone who actually wants others to put forward their opinions. Keep me informed and I'll be a part of it. Good luck!

Sounds like a good idea to me but I can't help feeling that you will get some weird twisted fanaticists there. Just be careful to try and weed these out along with racism.

Well as a Christian I don't think I'd bother. People will only end up arguing and getting nowhere. I love to debate, but this sort of thing is a waste of time and energy.

it's wrong for you to ask people to state why their religion is the right one
it will only lead to unfair comparisons and heated arguments
I don't think a certain religion is supposed to be the "right one" or if it is better than other religions
it's all a matter of choice

I'm a Pagan and my religion is the right one. For the record, a Pagan's definition of "the right religion" is: Whichever path one feels comfortable with.
Mine is right because it logically makes sense.
