Maybe sit her down and ask her if there is something that she would be interested in doing part-time. Tell her it would give her a little extra spending money and maybe make some new friends, get a break from the monotony of the house etc. Make sure you are loving and respectful. Just bring it up to her like you are concerned for her having a social life and spending money so she can do something nice for herself and so forth. Good luck! Hope it helps

Is she watching your kids when you work? In that case, she is sort of working. Sit down and talk with her about needing to be a family with just your husband and kids, and help her look for a job.

Using just about those words wouldn't be a bad way to go. Be prepared for some fireworks, gnashing of teeth, a guilt-trip plastered all over you but stick to your guns. Do that IF you want your own life. If you just need to complain about here, that's OK too.

I've already answered another question like this, lol.
My husband built a house for my mom. She doesn't work and we do not expect her to. We do not really have the money to support her, but we do what we can.
Your mom raised you, so why does it bother you to help her?

Be up front and honest. Tell Her to get a job find a home for yourself. I will be glad to help you when you are old enough that you can't help yourself any more.
