If feeligns are mutual we will generally act in a way that suggests we like you, but a bit picking on you harmlessly is more just a method of flirting some guys use, not a way of acting like we don't like you (besides it's kinda fun). Guys have the ability to turn down a girls after she tells him how she feels bbecause girls don't do that, and will often lead guys on, whether intentional or otherwise. Almost no guys will ever lead a girl on, and as a result we will tell you that we don't share the feelings, rather than leaving you with some false hope.

I'll answer this as though it's universally true, so long as we both know it isn't. :)
A guy acting the opposite of how he feels probably isn't trying to project the "opposite" image, he's probably going for the "cool" image. He doesn't want the girl to know how much he's into her, as it might hurt his imagined image as a tough guy. And really, as much as women say they want more sensitive men, they really don't tend to want sappy, clingy guys, either. So guys tend to go for the cool, aloof, quiet and tough image.
As for the other question, if a guy turns a girl down, that's a different story altogether. That usually just means the guy is not interested... there's a difference between being aloof and just not being into someone, and a rejection like that is more than likely just a rejection. Guys are fairly straightforward... there's not going to be some headgame there.

well, SOME of us act the opposite way because we're immature/nervous/unconfident and dont want to face the possibility that we may be rejected. that's why some of us guys do that. but it's different when a girl tells you how you feel and you turn her down (im guessing that you're not talking about the same situation), you either find her unattractive or you just plain don't like her in the same way that she likes you. i mean, i personally feel really bad for having to turn girls away because i know how much determination it must have taken

That's because you have those immature little boy's who just don't no what to do with his self because if that was a real man he would of not turned you down or acked like he did not like you he would of talked to you because he is more mature and is grown and acked like hes grown but on the other hand you have those little boys that you are talking about and hey are only doing that because the are young and still is going through puberty because that is apart of the little boys puberty stage.

Its all about Chemistry and actraction. We love to tease as women and men love to chase. its nature. The mystery is gone when you tell a man how you feel. NEVER do that unless its a lie. and you want to run him away from you.

You need to find a guy that's not into playing games with you like that because not all guys are like that.
