Some of the arguments against Christians masturbating are that it might involve pornography, it might involve sinful fantasizing, it might decrease the desire for one's spouse, it might become addicting, and so on. However, these arguments do not prove that masturbation is a sin. After all, masturbation can be done without any of those things happening. For example, driving a car might involve exceeding the speed limit or running a red light (both of which are wrong), but this doesn't mean that driving a car is wrong in itself. In a similar way, masturbation can involve certain things which are wrong, but this doesn't mean that masturbation itself is wrong. Masturbation can be done without any of the above things happening, so those arguments do not prove that masturbation itself is a sin. well this is what i think

Some people think masturbation is a sin because it causes you to think of another person in a sexual way, usually when you are unmarried.

There are two reasons why I think masturbation is not a sin.

1) I am agnostic, therefore do not believe in anything being a "sin".

2) Masturbation is healthy, to a certain extent. It is a way to relieve stress, explore your body, and connect with your inner self. Yes, I believe there is a such thing as TOO MUCH masturbation, which is then unhealthy, but as for masturbating every now and again, I see no harm in it.

I believe so, and here's why: Sin is all about serving the self first. The idea of setting yourself up as god. One of the best descriptions of sin is gazing at your own navel (belly button). to turn outward toward God and toward others is the working out of goodness in your life. Masturbation takes the healthy human longing for sexual intimacy and turns it into a selfish act that objectifies yourself and the other people around you. C.S.Lewis describes Masturbation as setting up an imaginary harem in your mind of sexual partners who are always pleased with you and always give you what you want without you having to do anything. This plays out in your relationships with other people, causing you to act selfishly and to expect your real sexual partner to live up to your imagination, something no one is really capable of.
Our sexuality is meant ot be expressed in a context of giving selflessly to one other person in order to demonstrate love and complete commitment to them. Masturbation on the other hand damages all our relationships by driving us inward, and placing unrealistic expectations on others.

My religious consultants agree that there are scriptural admonitions against it - spilling seed, etc. Of course that would apply only to guys. And if the ladies are lusting after someone who is not their husband when doing it, then they're eligible for an eternity in hell too.

On the other hand, it is your soap, and you can wash yourself as fast as as long as you want to.

Yes because it's a sin of the flesh.

i say yes why. what you are thinking when you masturbate.....

the Bible(Jesus) says that "If you look into a woman & lust unto her, you have already committed adultery in your heart" hence it is a sin.

Some say yes , Some say no.

I say if it doesnt convict you as being a sin then its not to you.
