You're telling us that someone with HIV was cured because of prayer? Sorry, but I'm unconvinced.

There is no cure for HIV. Some people experiencing ARC or full-blown AIDS can indeed enter into periods of remission. The reasons for this are being investigated at the moment - by people who do crazy things like study infectious viruses and cell mutations instead of asking for help from the Big Guy up there...

There is a lot of evidence to show that praying has no effect on disease recovery. Some studies suggest it actually has a negative effect.

But the relationship between mind and body is also not well understood. So if he believed that God would help him, this might have given him the 'strength' to fight back at the disease a little more.

I am not a medical person and I don't know if there is a cure for HIV+. When you say the condition is reversed do you mean that they are now cured?

If they are then it is a massive step in medical science and it has nothing to do with God.

People don't get cured of diseases because of God. It is because of all the medical research that has been done and is still being carried out today.

So I'm guessing the HIV is still there but the secondary problem has gone? I'm glad for you and feel that prayer does help. Even if all it does is provide comfort to someone it is definitely worth it!

Thank God and enjoy the time you relative has gained on this Earth!

Nope not at all. You can't make a claim like that. There is as much evidence that it was god as that it was little pixes with there magical pixey power. People don't seem to realise with things like this you can't start with a theory then gain some facts to fit the theory you gain the facts first then make a theory then others gain more facts to either prove or dis prove your theory this is something theists don't seem to be able to understand they think you make a theory then everyone believes it and anyone who asks for evidence worships satan and will be punished for all eternity. Say no to jesus

So he magically doesn't have HIV anymore? Or just got better from that particular illness that was ailing him.
Either way, let's give credit where it's due. All the men and women who are busting their butts to create a cure, and vaccine, deserve recognition. God didn't do that, modern medicine did.

That's awesome! I do believe God answers prayers. He healed my cat from feline AIDS many years ago. She was ill and my mum had to feed her through a dropper. After she was diagnosed we kept her indoors for several months because she had no immune system. We were praying for her, and then the vet sent off a blood sample to Glasgow and it came back negative. That was in 1989 and she died in 2004 aged 19. If you are not sure if it was God who healed your relative you could ask Him yourself!

Perhaps it was the placebo effect, prayer is proven to work only when the person you are praying for KNOWS and is aware that you are praying for them. In which case, they cured themselves by believing that you were asking god to cure them.

Basically, blind faith can work wonders but it is also ignorance which is never acceptable, open your mind, what do YOU believe happened, that is the only truth you know.

Probably. God likes to give people HIV, then take it away. Personally, I think he is the original Indian Giver.

Of course, why wouldn't it be? The people who come in here with ugly attitudes are NOT representatives of Christ. They represent their own smallness. God, however IS Love. He is not petty or small in His dealings with mankind or we would all be squashed like bugs.

Sin and the sinner are 2 entirely different things!
