Considering the fact that Jesus was from the Middle East, the likelihood is that he was NOT white.
Europeans were more comfortable making Jesus look like them, therefore...

You're talking about two completely different things. The Neanderthals died over a million years ago--the people of Jesus' time were the way we are now. Plus, we're not descended from Neanderthals--they were another branch of the family tree that didn't make it. Jesus was Aramaic, and the Aramaic people look much like most Arabic people, so he wouldn't have been the lily white person he's shown as, but more like a modern Middle Eastern man.

The first person on Earth was Black? How can anyone know that? Modern Human beings have non-homo sapiens precursors, who most likely were neither white nor black. Soem left Africa and evolved to be white since it was an adaptive advantage to do so. Those who stayed evolved darker over time, sicne it was an advantage to do so.
As for people during the time of Jesus, they would be olive-skinned Middle Eastern types. But people create their deities in their own image and likeness.

Jesus was part of a tribe of people know at the Semites, this group which includes both Arabs and Israelite are Semitic (nomadic dessert dwellers) and originate in the area of the Mesopotamian valley near the Caucasian mountains. There fore this group of people were called Caucasians. Yes he was what we now call white. I'm not saying that the first humans were not out of Africa, they were and from there they spread to three main areas in the world and the different races developed because of climatic and ecological reasons.

It's pretty well established that Neanderthal Man was not homo sapiens - was not of the same species as you and I and, presumably, Jesus.
It does seem likely, though, given the skin color of most Middle Eastern residents today, that Jesus was considerably darker in complexion than he is depicted in many paintings.

OK first off you need to get a grip if you are talking about the first people. By estimates he was born 2000 years ago give or take. So he WASN'T one of the first people. He was from the Middle East though and he looked like the people there, he looked AVERAGE. He wasn't white by all our guesses. If he was then everyone there was white. He was painted white by the Europeans because that was what they knew. Also notice how they don't make him look average.

Yes, Jesus was not black, more tan if you will. also the first people were dark brown due to there exposure they got from the sun. and as people migrated to less sunny places there skin grew paler for there body's needed to absorb more sun.- (vitamin D.) history is full of false depictions of how someone looked just look at a science show and you will see Neanderthals and those that came after depicted as white. sadly with all our advances and such our society is still racist, and is still trying to show whites as the better race. which makes little sense for all races are one race, the only differences is the way they evolved to the new climates.

Jesus wasn't a neanderthal. Jesus was one of the common humans like us, and they had been around for quite some time before him too. Also, as the first girl said, he wasn't white, but probably very very tan or black

Oh my...
Jesus wasn't a white man, he just played one on TV.
Modern man does not descend from Neanderthals. They are a 'cousin' species that died out - probably because of Homo Sapiens' superior ability to adapt to the environment.
Jesus was probably painted white to get Europeans to 'embrace' Christianity - they might not have accepted someone 'from down there' who 'looked like a foreigner' (Europe hasn't changed much in 2000 years).
Of course, he may well never have even existed. So I guess you could paint him any colour you like!

You're mixing your metaphores.. Jesus/creation vs Neanderthals/evolution...
He lived in the Middle East about 2000 yrs ago... His mom (Mary) was a Jew... hmmm I'd guess He was a little darker- like those of the Middle East, today.

the answer is - he was'nt. Jesus was of Isreali descent and looked accoridngly. The bible mentions that he had the tanned skin and heavy should of a carpanter.
Many modern and medevial pictures painted him white because they felt it made Jesus more familar to them. THere are also pictures out there showing jesus as africian or chinese. THey are historically inaccurate, but help people get a sense of the man as something other than a historical figure.
