Yes as compared to what we get in the US. The reason is that our government doesn't allow the Guinness to be shipped with live enzymes in the beer, so the beer is altered for export. This alteration changes the flavor in a very distinct way.

Yes, Guinness sends out quality control teams every month to clean the taps and make sure all the bartenders are up to speed on how a proper Guinness is poured.
That's what they claim, I couldn't notice a big difference.
Maybe people are excited to be in Ireland, and everything becomes better. It is a magical place.

I hear that it tastes different... wether it's better in Dublin or not is a personal preference really... The Guinness in Dublin is also a lower alcoholic content by volume. That is becuase it is cheaper to export a higher alcoholic content beverage than it is to sell it in Ireland.

To be sure -Yes t'is.
Some Guinness was spilled on the Dublin pub floor
when the pub was shut for the night.
Out of his hole crept a wee brown mouse
and stood in the pale moonlight.
He lapped up the frothy brew from the floor,
then back on his haunches he sat.
And all night long you could hear him roar,
'Bring on the goddam cat!'

Very much so, only because when beer is shipped over-seas, it can cool and heat at different times, changing the taste of the beer, therefore it is better where it was made.

I'd hope so. I've had some pretty nasty Guiness here in the US. I try to stick with Murphy's because most of the places that carry it know they can sell it, so it doesn't get old. : )
