Sounds to me like it's an aftermarket chain (midas, tuffy, meineke) type exhaust. You can cut the exhaust pipe off straight (just before the bend-leave room to attach something), then go to a place like Auto Zone or some other auto supply place and buy a nice chrome extension that attaches with a couple of screws. Just a thought.

Any muffler shop can fix this problem for a few dollars. Gibson makes an exaust system that exits straight back for that vehicle, cost is about $350.

go to any muffler shop. they have many pipes that change the look or direction of the pipe. they do all the welding so they can make mods to meet your needs
