Full_tile: Just like Judaism and Christianity? What Jews or Christians are cutting peoples heads off and flying planes into buildings???

DocScholl, the only reason the crusades are viewed negatively is because of "white guilt". The muslims took over the "holy land" the way they take over everything, they killed anyone that didn't want to be muslim. The crusades tried to correct the situation. How dare you compare Islam with christianity! You have to go back hundreds of years to find something bad to say about christians. Whens the last time christians cut heads off non christians and chanted "god is great" while doing so? Muslims do this regularly. Don't study history, study current events.

Fungi, I'm not generalizing that all muslims are terrorists, even though the koran (8:12) says something like "strike terror, cut off their heads...". I am generalizing that most people that cut off heads and fly planes into buildings ARE muslim. They chant "alla is great" while they do it. How can anyone miss this obvious fact? And where are all the good muslims condemming the acts of these terrorists? Their silence is deafening.

Given the news lately, I think the answer is clear.

The world islam means peace so... you figure it out. Terror is what extremists bring. No normal muslim does acts of terrorists and probably less than 1% are extremist terrorists. No, muslims don't fly planes into buildings or suicide bomb others. The people that call themselves muslims and do that are by no means at all muslims and are committing an act of murder, which goes against the religion and so makes them unreligious (or at least far from muslim).
Please don't generalise muslims with these terrorists. Very few people are like this and it's a shame that you actually believe all the propaganda about this.

I am not certain this question is worded as best it can be.

No religion (at least an accepted and practiced one) is a religion of terror. I am sure that there are just as many Christians, Jews, or whatever religious tag you would like to use, that follow the wrong paths. The religion itself teaches peace and harmony...granted the troubles we see are being blamed on Islam, but why? The word 'radicals' comes to mind. Radicals in their thinking, and radicals in their actions. If you must peg blame on someone, blame the people doing the atrocities, not the religion they follow.

One could ask that same question abut Christianity.
Consider the world in the 11th. Century and the desire of leading Christians to march into the Holy Land and reclaim it for their religion.
Along the way, hundreds of thousands of non-Christians, Jews and Muslims were slaughtered, in the name of Jesus.
Not exactly a Christian act of peace and love, is it?

Okay...now move the time frame up to around the 13th Century, in Spain.
The leading Christians there decided to purge its country of heretics - anyone who wasn't Christian would have to either convert, leave or die.
Sounds a lot like radical Islam, doesn't it?

History is fascinating.
Some of us tend to ignore it, because it reminds us of an uglier time.
But when we ignore and/or forget history, we tend to repeat it.

Let's hope America doesn't become a so-called "Christian Nation"...to me, that smacks of the same mentality of those middle east nations where Islam IS the only one, true religion.

Islam can be used as a relgion of peace. But, not a religion of terror. The religion of terror is Satanism. The only kind of Islam which is considered as a religion of terror is Radical Islam. However, you gotta know the difference between good Islam and bad Islam, it is the bad Islam which you yourself must avoid. Anyhoo, the good Islam is an okay religion that I am quite partial to, you know what I am saying? Well anyway, the demographic of Islam which supports terrorism is a tiny, tiny few! And that tiny, tiny few is the radical Islamic extremists!

to begin with i do not think or feel that any religion in this world encourages terrorism and bloodshed.
as a muslim myself i can tell u that islam is a religion of the most perfect values.
if u don't believe me u can satisfy urself by going through the koran (get a translated copy in the language of ur choice).
i am infuriated that islam and terrorism hav been spelt in the same breath an umpteenth time.
but if u continue associatin' terrorism with islam, u r in gross error

If George Bush were to bomb your home one morning because he was looking for some WMDs or such would you call Christianity a religion of terror? What if it was Nuclear Bomb in Heroshima?

Why is violence by some Muslims who have lost their head extended to the whole religion and whoever is born into it?

Whatever the nature of a certain religion, when you paint it in bad colours, you are actually insulting the whole community... even those, like me who do not believe in any religion but happen to have been born in one.

Neither one. Islam is no more peaceful than any other religion. However, Islamic terrorists certainly seem to be taking center stage these days. Overall, I think Islam, like all religions, is centered in peace, yet have a minority of followers who are extremists and commit crimes in the name of Islam. It's a shame because it causes Muslims to have to defend their faith, and that isn't fair.

I believe & know that Islam is the religion of peace. A true Muslim won't hurt anybody on purpose. They are lean also on their Enemies.

Don't take my word for that, Just read History books.

It is indeed a religion of peace and love, the same as Judaism and Christianity. However, as in both of those religions, there are certain people who have distorted the beliefs and teachings to fit their own agendas, and there are always people who will follow someone else...

I don't know...it was called the religion of peace...but now it might be the religion of peace through terrorist activities, or something like that.

Just kidding to all you Muslums...I know its just a few extreamists that give the religion a bad name...kinda like how we have a few preists in the Catholic Church that gave all preists something to worry about (acusations from children of molestations).

...it's ashame that this happend to both religions but the strong belivers in Christ (or Allah or whoever you call God) will get by these times...
