Mine is painful (sadly), Did you know that the word excruciating come from the word "cross"? The suffering that Christ did was so painful that they created a new adjective to desribe how painful it is.

I'm glad that he did it though. Thank you Jesus!

My first thought is usually (1) if it is on something other than a person wearing it: oh, a sign from God that He is with me right now; and (2) when on a person wearing it as jewelry: if it looks respectful, I think, oh, wow, they love the Lord too, or I hope they love the Lord; when it is worn disrespectfully (large and gaudy with the inappropriate attire), I think, wow, they don't even know what that cross represents, and I hope if they're not saved that they will get saved. Sometimes when I see a cross, I think about how I can use it to begin a conversation about how to know Jesus as their Saviour.

My first thought when I think of the cross is guilt, knowing he died for my sins not his. Then I think of the unconditional love that had to have prompted that action.

When I see the cross I think about how Jesus was suffering

My first thought I guess is, He did that for me. All those beatings and mocking he bore that so I would not have to. Sometimes its like you can feel what he felt. But it would all boil down to unconditional love.

As a Jew when I see the crucifix, I wonder if Jesus knows what his followers have done in his name.

My first thought is that it is strange for a religion to take as its symbol the vehicle of it's deity's murder. If they had garroted him, woiuld we all be wearing garrotes around our necks? Wonder what that would do to the murder rate!
