that the Feast of the Annunciation is celebrated on March 25th each year because it is nine months before the Nativity?

Yes. It's obvious.

Both dates also coincide with the seasons. The Feast of the Annunciation happens in the spring- a time of new life (this is the same reason Passover, and EASTER are both in the spring)

then we get the feast of the Birth of John the Baptist- three months after the Annunciation. Recall scripture tells us Mary spent three months at the home of Elizabeth and Zechariah. This happens at the beginning of Summer- when the days begin to grow shorter ( John the Baptist said of Jesus ," He must INCREASE and I must DECREASE)

Christmas not only occurs 9 mths after the beginning of spring and the Annunciation, it occurs immediatley after the beginning of winter....and when the days begin to grow longer....because, after all....

JESUS IS THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD!
