There are still government operations at Area 51. There are several modestly good documentaries on Area 51 that replay on the Travel Channel, Discovery, or History Channel every few months. These shows do talk to some of the crackpots but there are also some people that seem reasonable interviewed as well. General consensus among them is that the "Aurora" spy plane is based out of here. They also seem to think that planes using experimental pulse engines also fly out of there. No one knows for sure since these are still classified projects. It would make sense that something secret is going on. We retired the SR-71 because it was obsolete which means SOMETHING had to replace it.

The place is used for "Black Projects" such as the F-117 "Stealth" fighter, which was developed there. Recently (within the past few years), observers have noticed a strange contrail in the skies near "Area 51" or "Groom Lake", which is believed to be evidence of scram jet technology. The "UFO" business is merely misdirection on the part of the military. The only aliens are swimming across the Rio Grande.

I don't think there is anything there now. They moved the military base somewhere else.

They abduct people from trailer parks and bring them there to do sexual experiments and crossbreeding.
